Gary R. Whitson
Gary Richard Whitson, age 72, of Lincoln, Nebraska passed away on June 23, 2018. Gary was born on May 4, 1946 in Opelika, Alabama. He graduated from Lincoln High School in 1964. He then went on to study botany at the University of Nebraska Lincoln. Gary served in the Navy from February, 1965 to December, 1968 on a flagship in the Philippines. In addition, Gary was on tour in Vietnam for four years April, 1969 to May, 1976. Gary then worked as manager of the photo lab for the Nebraska Department of Revenue. He operated several different floral shops. He was also a chef at The Acreage Restaurant in Lincoln. Before retiring, Gary spent ten years overseeing supplies for St. Elizabeth Medical Center. Left to cherish her memories as brother and sister is his dear sister Debra Johns of Lincoln. Gary requested no services.

Mark Wallace Wolff
MARK W. WOLFF, 66, Lincoln, NE Mark Wallace Wolff was born on April 3, 1952 to parents Rev. Wallace Wolff and Ruth (Fauquet) Wolff in Norfolk, NE. Mark was a graduate of Benson High School in Omaha, NE and Midland College in Fremont, NE. Mark was a Professional Musician and moved to New York City shortly after graduating from Midland. Some of his various musical career opportunities and accomplishments included: A member of a jazz quartet, ZAZZ; a member of Riverside Church and Choir; the Metropolitan Opera Chorus (also worked in costume department); Cruze ship entertainer and United Services Organization (USO) Entertainment Tour performer. Mark lived and worked in New York for over 34 years until his return to Nebraska in 2009. After his return to Nebraska, Mark was active in local theater in Lincoln and The Abendmusik Choir. Mark died on Sunday, May 6, 2018 following complications from a genetic heart condition. He is survived by sisters Lainey Wolff and Margaret (husband Mike) Coulter; nephew Steve Coulter and grandniece, Jadyn Agee; niece Jennifer Coulter (Karl) Jackson; and many cousins and friends. Cremation. No visitation. Celebration of Life service on Saturday, May 26th at 11am at First Plymouth Church with a lunch to follow. Memorials go to Abendmusik. Website is www.abendmusik.org. Virgil Ward, 71, of Lincoln died April 7, 2018. Born 10/08/1946 in Redfield, South Dakota. Son of Melvin and Josephine Ward. He married Edna Greer on June 25th 1967. Survivors: wife Edna Greer Ward; daughter Kerri and husband Ben Ruff; grandsons R. Jacob Rappa and Gabriel Ruff; sister Verdel Garbi and nieces and nephews Kevin, Jonathon, Jeffry and Rebecca. Cremation. No visitation. Celebration of Life Service on Monday, April 16, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at Lincoln Berean Church. Use the north entrance.
