She is preceded in death by Merle “Buzz” Bussard (dad), Ruth Eskey (mother), Connie Kormanec (sister), Kevin Quidato (nephew), and Melissa Vifquain (granddaughter).
She is survived by two sisters (Jean Bartlett and Jackie Quidato), four daughters (Kathy Fronk, Lori Vifquain, Manette McKeeman, and Peggy Sharp), five nephews, three nieces, thirteen grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.
Services honoring her life will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday March 23rd, at Plains Baptist Church, 2902 Randolph St., Lincoln, NE with Pastor Raymond Smith. A reception will be held at Lake Street Senior Center, 2400 S. 11th St., Lincoln, NE from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. with light lunch, dessert, and live music from one of Sherry’s favorite bands, The Fine Wines. Parking is available through the alley way into the church parking lot.
Gerald “Jerry” Allen Hoffer was born December 18th, 1946 in St. Paul, Minnesota, the son of Glen Hoffer and Marcella Delores (Wolfe) Hoffer, and passed away at home surrounded by the comfort of his wife Sherry, and stepson Johnny and his wife Katelyn, on March 1st, 2018 in Lincoln, Nebraska at the age of 72 years, 2 months and 11 days after a very brief battle with cancer. Jerry was baptized at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in St. Paul and confirmed at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in St Paul Park. He was a 1964 graduate of Park High School and graduated from Winona State, MN. Jerry was a chemist at 3M in St. Paul, MN and later a lab director at the Madrid, NE ethanol plant. No matter where Jerry called home throughout his life, he was always involved with chemistry in the places he worked. Jerry was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church in Lincoln. Jerry loved to travel and learn all he could about history and anything si-fi. Jerry was a fan of nature. One of his favorite things to do in the afternoons was sit on the patio, enjoy a cup of coffee, and watch the squirrels scurry around the yard. Jerry was a fan of jazz and folk music and enjoyed spending his spare time at The Crescent Moon with his wife. Jerry loved fast cars and watching the drag races. Despite Jerry’s age, he was an avid user of Facebook. He enjoyed reading all the funny things his friends and family shared. He loved his children and grandchildren very much and enjoyed his trip to Oregon where he got to spend time with his family and meet his Grandson Leo for the first time. Although his family was scattered throughout the country, he kept them close at heart and enjoyed their phone calls. Jerry was a kind and gentle soul and was able to strike up a conversation with anyone wherever he went. His smile was comforting to others and his sincerity was welcoming. He always had a special twinkle in his eye when something amused him. Preceding Jerry in death were his parents, Glen and Marcella Hoffer. Survivors cherishing Jerry’s memory include his wife, Sherry Hoffer of Lincoln; sons Mike Hoffer of Portland, OR, and Greg (Theresa) Hoffer of Eugene, OR; and daughter Julie (Seth) Mills Canon of Portland OR, grandsons Leo and Liam; Stepsons Johnny (Kate) Bapat of Seward, AJ (Christina) Bapat of Lakewood, CA; grandsons Jayton Brown, Tristan Bapat, Kaleb Bapat, Justis Bapat, Bodhi Bapat and granddaughters Kandra (Nick) Hooley and Sophia Jeppesen; siblings (spouses), Sandy Williamson of St. Paul, MN, Chris (Vonita) Hoffer of Fort Smith, AR, Tony Hoffer of Maplewood, MN; Father-in-law Perry Dobyns of Lyman, WY, Mother-in-law Yvette Dobyns of Taylorville, IL; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Gary (Cindy) Dobyns of Kaysville, UT, and Dannette (Tom) Stuthman of Taylorville, IL; cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. Memorial Service at 9:30 a.m. on March 10th, 2018 at Blessed Sacrament Church, 1720 Lake Street in Lincoln, NE, with Father Sullivan officiating. A luncheon will follow at the Fairfield Inn and Suites conference room which is located at 1000 W Bond Street in Lincoln, NE. A memorial and graveside service will be held in Minnesota at St. Thomas Aquinas Church in St. Paul Park, MN on April 20th, 2018. Pamela Kay Adden was born March 23, 1964 in Lincoln, Nebraska. She was the only daughter of Eldon L. (Pete) Adden and Verlene Kay (Stewart) Adden. She went to be with her Lord peaceful at home on February 28, 2018. Pam graduated from Lincoln Northeast High School. She earned as an Associate Degree in Surgery Technology from Southeast Community College. Prior to becoming disabled Pam worked for Ophthalmology Associates and in group home settings. She will be remembered for her love of family and friends. She demonstrated her compassion for others by sending cards, and writing letters on birthdays, holidays and special occasions. Enjoyed cooking and baking, and sharing the results with friends. For hobbies she enjoyed rock collecting, jewelry making and a variety of crafts. Pam loved her pets, and her large collection of Wizard of Oz items. Pam is survived by her daughters, Alicia (Chris) Soncksen and Meghin Krafka (Bryan Murray). Grandchildren Kinley Soncksen, Blake and Bryce Murray. Mothers Kay Adden and Charlene Adden. Brothers Tracy Adden (Cheryl Dryden) and Tony (Rowena) Adden. Preceded in death by father Eldon L. (Pete) Adden, grandparents, aunts and uncles. Celebration of Life was held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 5, 2018, Radiant Church, 740 North 70th, Lincoln, NE 68505. Greeted family one hour before service. Interment was at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 10, 2018, at the Arapahoe Cemetery, Arapahoe, Nebraska. Winifred was born on October 29, 1911 in rural Clay County Nebraska to Fredrick and Pearl Goesch. She graduated from Edger High School in 1927. She married Lauren Sanburg in 1932 and was blessed with five children, Barbara (Sanburg) Pinneo, Darrell Sanburg, Terry Sanburg, Larry Sanburg, and Raymond Sanburg.
She moved from York Nebraska to California and married Ervin Uden in 1956.They lived in California until retirement when they relocated to Yuma Arizona. She remained in Yuma until 2016 when she moved to Lincoln Nebraska to live with her daughter.
Winifred was preceded in death by husband Ervin Uden, son Darrell Sanburg, son Larry Sanburg, step son Norman Uden, son in law Virgil Pinneo and daughter in laws Darlyne Sanburg and Joanne Sanburg as well as her parents, two brothers, two sisters, and a grand daughter in law. She is survived by her daughter Barbara Pinneo, sons Terry Sanburg and Raymond Sanburg as well as 12 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, 22 great great grandchildren, 5 great great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service in memory of Winifred was held on Saturday March 3, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. At the First Christian Church, 430 South 16th Street, Lincoln NE.
