Graduating from Malcolm High School in 1982, he worked rental construction until his mother finally caved and let him join the Marines. He served in the Marines from 1983 – 1987. He took a break to start his business, Magee Remodel, with continued success for 31 years. He graduated from Southeast Community College with a degree in Construction Management in 1990 while at the same time starting a family.
