Paulette J. Murphy

Paulette June Pettit passed away peacefully at her home in Lincoln, Nebraska, on December 21, 2024, at the age of 74, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was surrounded by love and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Paulette was born on June 13, 1950, in Nevada, Iowa, to Clair D. Pettit and Lavone E. Pettit (née Adams). She spent her childhood and formative years in Lincoln, Nebraska, where she graduated from College View Academy in 1968. Paulette continued her education at Union College, earning an associate degree in Office Services in 1970. Throughout her career, Paulette excelled in administrative roles and left a lasting impact on the organizations she served. Her professional journey included positions at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Lincoln, Nebraska; Scottsdale Memorial in Scottsdale, Arizona; and most recently at East Lincoln Internal Medicine in Lincoln. Her dedication and professionalism were evident to all who worked with her. Paulette’s life was enriched by her many passions and hobbies. An accomplished pianist, she found great joy in sharing music with others and playing for church services. She was also delighted in experimenting with new recipes and baking treats for friends and family. Her vegetable garden was a source of pride and nourishment, and she cherished the simple pleasure of taking daily walks almost every day. Paulette is survived by her devoted husband, Thomas Murphy; her two children, Katherine (Kate) and Benjamin (Ben) and granddaughter Ava Grace; as well as countless friends whose lives she touched with her warmth and kindness. She was previously married to David S. Ripley from 1973 until 1989. A celebration of Paulette’s life is being planned for May or June of 2025 in Lincoln. Details will be shared closer to that time so that all who wish to honor her memory may gather together. Paulette will be remembered for her resilience, generosity of spirit, and the joy she brought to those around her. Anita A. Morris

Anita Morris, 65, of Lincoln Nebraska passed away at home on November 14, 2024, surrounded by family. She was born on August 10, 1959, in Germany to William and Roswitha Morris. Her family moved around a lot due to her father’s service in the Army. After High School she settled in Lincoln. She worked at Novartis/GSK/Haleon for 25 years and retired this August. Anita loved to bowl, fish, and golf and loved spending time with her pups. She will be missed by many. Survived by her spouse Carol Latham; brother Gary Morris; special cousin Debra Spivey; aunt Inge Burton; cousins, nieces, nephews and many, many friends. As well as Mario, Pepper, and Sarah. Bonnie Jean Moses

Bonnie Jean Moses was born in Philip, SD on April 5, 1960 to Annabel and Gay Moses. She passed away on October 3, 2024 at the age of 64 years. She was one of six children in the family: Dennis, Joseph, Michael, Bonnie, Julie, and Donald. She grew up in Philip, SD from birth until 19 years old. She attended Philip Public School and graduated in 1978. She played basketball, softball and track while in high school. She played the french horn in band and sang in the choir. After high school she started traveling the United States. Some of the places that she traveled to include Denver, Colorado; Casper, Wyoming; Carson City, Nevada; Garland, Texas and Hugo, Oklahoma. She then moved to Rapid City, South Dakota where she received her cosmetology license. On May 11, 1984 her daughter Sara was born in Philip, SD. On October 11, 1993 her daughter Taylor was born in Rapid City, SD. While living in South Dakota after cosmetology school Bonnie had her own shop called Corner Cuts from 1990-1995. Then she moved to Fairmont, Nebraska in 1995. There she began working at Champion Homes until 2001. In 2004 she opened a beauty shop called Sheer Image in Exeter. Then in 2005 she cut hair at the Lincoln Regional Center until 2009. In 2000 she met David. Together they raised five children; Sara, Taylor, Sarah, Patrick and Jonathon. They helped raise their grandson, Brekken for the first six years of his life. They lived in Exeter and Fairmont. They still reside in Exeter in the house they remodeled together. May 11, 2010 she was diagnosed with AML Leukemia and began treatments. She had a stem cell transplant in 2011 and was in remission for 9 years. The cancer came back in 2020. During remission Bonnie and David enjoyed camping, fishing, going to garage sales, and she even went golfing a few times. They did some traveling to Texas, Kansas and South Dakota. Occasionally Bonnie would travel to see family by herself. Bonnie loved doing crafts, especially the wreaths that she would make and give away. She battled bravely for the last 14 years with David by her side until the end. Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents; Annabel and Gay. Father-in-law Dan. Brother-in-law Dan Jr and his wife Stevie. Step Son Jonathon. One niece Shanda. Survived by David (spouse) of 24 years. Siblings: Dennis (Donna), Joseph (Michalee), Julie (Todd), Michael (Shar), and Donald (Wanda). Sister-in-law’s: Crystal (Jeff) and Sue (Jon). Children: Sara, Taylor, Sarah and Pat (Stephanie). 9 Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Virginia Mayfield

Virginia Mayfield, age 85, died in Lincoln, Nebraska on September 23, 2024, after a short battle with cancer. She was born April 16, 1939, in Chetopa, Kansas to Claude and Charlotte Mayfield. She graduated from the University of Arizona with a business degree and worked for Maricopa County, Arizona in the finance department and later as the superior court’s purchaser. Virginia was an avid walker and hiker; she participated in several half marathons and hiked the Grand Canyon during her retirement years. She had a witty sense of humor and a smile that would brighten a room. Virginia also had a heart for helping others. She was active with her church group, often giving rides to others who no longer drove, and she delivered meals with Meals on Wheels. She had a love for all sports and worked security for the Arizona State University’s football and baseball games. She is survived by her children, Tiffanie (Damian) Leffler, Trey Ross and Piper Ross, grandchildren Elliott and Dallas Leffler, great grandchild Brooklynn Ross, and brother Carl Mayfield.
