Mina Eleanor (Snooks) Grant

It is with great sadness that the family of Mina Eleanor (Snooks) Grant announce her passing on Thursday, March 14th, 2019 surrounded by family and friends. She was born on November 6th, 1940 in Auburn, NE to James and Ethel Boyle.

She attended school in Auburn, NE and later moved to the Lincoln/Raymond area. She spent her working career at Square D, Norden Labs/Smithkline Beecham.

After retiring, her time was spent surrounded by her grandchildren who were the joy of her life. She loved raising Collies, Himalayan cats, and spending time on the farm (and maybe a little shopping looking for some flashy new bling). She also cherished her time with bestfriend Joy Malone taking numerous trips to Colorado.

She is survived by her family, daughter Debbie Phillips, daughter Kelley (Jerry) Huffman, son David (Jenna) Whitaker, daughter Kristi Whitaker-Zerr, and daughter Tracy (Jim) Mahaffey, 12 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren. She is also survived by Nathaniel Lee Grant and his family.

Proceeded in death by her parents and three children.

She was an absolutely wonderful mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who made each of us feel so loved and special. She was the easiest of people to talk to. She enjoyed conversation and laughter with all of her family and friends, and loved her music from Rod Stewart to George Strait.

The family would like to send a special thank you to the wonderful staff, aides and nurses for their friendship, kindness and care during her time at Lancaster Manor. In addition, we would also like to thank Hospice Community Cares for their extraordinary care.

At her request, a celebration of life will be held at a later date with her immediate family. Memorials may be sent to Sesostris Shriners, Salvation Army, or to your local animal shelter.
