Susan (Sue) Kay Stanley
June 11, 1952 – December 1, 2021 Sue’s favorite song was “I Can Only Imagine.” After a 2 1/2 year battle with cancer, she doesn’t have to imagine anymore as she is now in the presence of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Sue was born in Beatrice, NE to Elwin and Mildred Trump. She married Eldon Stanley on April 1, 1977 and they had one son, Joshua. Sue and Eldon owned All Aluminum Window Company where she was the office administrator. Sue’s most enjoyable time was spent in her craft room making very special handmade cards. Sue is survived by her husband Eldon, son Josh (fiancé Kasey), granddaughter Avery, step-daughter Rachelle (Jim), three step-grandchildren and four great grandchildren, brother Mike Trump (Sue), brother-in-law Melvin Stanley (Lori), brother-in-law Rich Ernst Sr. and several nieces and nephews. Sue is preceded in death by her parents and infant sister Diane. Funeral services will be Saturday, December 11 at 2pm at Heartland Bible Church, 2611 S. 56th St., Lincoln, NE. Steven Wesley Sloggett
Steven Wesley Sloggett, a longtime resident of Lincoln, Nebraska, died on November 24, 2021 at Bryan Medical Center East Campus after a short battle with cancer. He was born on February 27, 1957 in McCook, Nebraska to Gerald and Ruth Sloggett. He was the third of their six children. Steve grew up in Broken Bow, Nebraska, where he played sports, worked at the local bakery and helped to run the Dairy Queen owned by his family. He graduated from Broken Bow High School in 1975 and attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where he received a BA in psychology in 1983. In Lincoln, he worked for LOMR, Lincoln Parks and Recreation, and the Community Mental Health Center-Adams Street. In 2000, Steve returned to school at Southeast Community College in Milford to study computer programming. After graduating in 2001, he worked for Assurity Life until his retirement in late 2020. Steve lived for 40 years with his longtime love, Betty Gayley. Throughout those years, he enjoyed bowling on a number of city league teams, being a generous friend in his neighborhood and community, caring for his lawn and gardens, being a blood donor, and spending time with family. On November 19, 2021, Steve and Betty were married. Steve was preceded in death by his father, Gerald Sloggett and his great-nephew, Dylan Dzingle. He is survived by his wife, Betty; his mother, Ruth Sloggett; sister, Joni (David) Ritchie; brother, Michael (Kate) Sloggett; brother, Craig (Annette) Sloggett; brother, Kent (Wendy) Sloggett; and sister, Jeanette (Doug) Birnie; Betty’s children, James (Kathy) Gayley and Donna (Steve) Spearman; 3 grandchildren and their spouses, 6 great-grandchildren, and 15 nieces and nephews. Memorial service to be held at St. Paul United Methodist Church, 1144 M St, Lincoln, NE 68508, on Saturday, December 4, 2021 at 2:30 p.m. The service will be livestreamed here. Barbara J. Skiff-Stites
Born in Omaha, Nebraska on September 17, 1932 to parents G.W. and Marjory (Drahos) McGavren; passed away on November 24, 2021. Barbara moved to Grand Island, NE in 1942, where she graduated from G.I. High school in 1950. She then attended Texas State College for Women in Denton, Texas. She married her husband Ted Skiff in 1951 and they had four children; Peggy Jo, Ted C., Stacy, and Sandra. She later married Rich Stites in 1993. Barbara is survived by her husband Rich Stites, daughters Stacy Skiff and Sandy Crawford, Son Ted. C. Skiff, and Randy Stites. Also her four grandchildren, Jennifer Tapia, Brian Skiff, Kelly Reames, and Hannah Skiff; and five great grandchildren, Julien, Janelle, Aidyn, Elyas, and Emberlyn, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Barbara is preceded in death by her parents, husband Ted J. Skiff, daughter Peggy Skiff, and brother Bill McGavren, Jr. As per Barbara’s wishes there will be no funeral service. Robert Allen Stutheit
Robert Allen Stutheit born July 23rd 1939, passed away November 6th, 2021 at Bryan Memorial LGH East. He was 82 years old. Robert was born in Humboldt, Nebraska to Ed and Nadine Stutheit. He was a 1957 graduate of Humboldt High School. Throughout high school Robert was excellent football player and excelled at everything he did. After high school he moved to California for a short time. He also served in the Nebraska National Guard. In August of 1960, he married his wife, Shirley. They had two children, Greg, and Teresa. Robert and Shirley lived various locations, however spent most of their married life in Lincoln. Robert was one of the original owners of Double B Mobile Homes located on West O Street in Lincoln. Robert sold many motorhomes around the Lincoln area. Robert was involved in camping and outdoors all his life! Robert continued his working career operating heavy equipment and dirt work with Hansen Construction in Emerald, NE. Robert enjoyed classic cars all his life. He was especially proud of his, 1951 Kaiser, which was his father’s car. He restored this car from the ground up and was so proud to have it back on the road. He showed cars in various car shows and attended parades with the Cruisin’ Classics Unit of the Sesostoris Shrine. Robert enjoyed going on car cruises and camping trips with his friends and family to locations all over Nebraska and surrounding areas. Robert loved to hunt, fish, boating and anything outdoors. Robert was a member of the Crusin’ Classics Unit of the Sesostris Shrine, Master Mason with Liberty Lodge 300, and Denton American Legion Post 355. Robert loved to work hard and play hard. He was never one to slow down too much. Robert and Shirley always liked to visit with friends at the local taverns. They enjoyed shuffleboard leagues back in the day at Merle’s Food and Drink in Emerald. Robert lived his life to the fullest, and was a great husband, father, brother, and friend to all that knew him. Robert is proceeded in death by his parents: Ed and Nadine. Brother: Ralph. Robert is survived by his wife, Shirley of Lincoln, son: Greg Stutheit, daughter: Teresa Lynch, both of Lincoln. brother: Roger (Carolyn) Stutheit, of Lincoln, sister: Carol (Wayne) Minchow, of Tecumseh. Sister in-law: Clara Stutheit, of Humboldt. Daughter in-law Paula (Dale) Lueders, of Lincoln. Grandchildren: Chad (Ashley) Stutheit, Mackenzie (Corey) Agnew, Jonna Lynch, Ali Bender all of Lincoln. Four great-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends. Celebration of Robert’s Life will be held at Denton American Legion Post 355 on Saturday, November 20th from 12-3PM. Robert chose cremation, and a private burial will be held at later date.
