Steven C Rose
Steven Curtis Rose was born into this world September 5, 1974 and departed from it surrounded by loved ones on October 9 , 2022, after a 10 month battle with Prostate Cancer.
He will be missed and remembered dearly. We knew him as someone who was a loyal friend. He was kind, calm, and had a sharp and quick wit, loved to debate philosophy, and gave wise advice. At the same time, he could build or fix just about anything. He enjoyed installing new components in his computer, each cord meticulously secured with tiny zip ties, and then joining his friends online for gaming adventures.
He was good with animals, and was always the favorite person for our cats. In his younger years he enjoyed camping and windsurfing. Over the years he held many jobs, often related to his repair skills.
48 years was not long enough for him to learn everything he wanted to know. Not long enough to sort everything out, to see the world, to love and be loved. Words can not explain how much we have lost.
He is survived by:
Partner of 20 years, Kathy Springer
Mother Ruby Planansky
Son Layne Dowhower and Grand Daughter Journey.
Sister Dena Chalupa, nephews Cyrus, Drayden, Orion, and Lincoln Chalupa, niece Zanacia Rose, great nephews Axzl and Storm Rose.
Aunt Karen Rogers, Uncle Mikel Asmus (Mary Asmus aunt), cousins Julie Blanton and Joy Soucie, and cousins Caleb and Jacob Asmus
Kitty Norbert
He has gone to join:
Father, Harold Rose
Grandparents: Thelma Fisher (Kenard “kadoke” Fisher), Ruben Asmus (Dorothy Asmus)
Great uncle Thomas Potter, great aunt Cleo “scat” Croft (Caleb), great aunt Maxine Potter, and cousin Jonathon Urwin
In the many months following the death of my dear son Steven Curtis rose on October 9,2022. I reflect on the amazing care that Steven received in the hospice unit by the amazing doctors and nurses who were diligently at his side in his final hours. Without the amazing team at aspen crematorium…my family and I would have not been able to cope with such a devastating loss in our lives. We, the family of Steven Curtis rose will be forever thankful…..may all of Steven’s family and dear friends find peace in the memories we have of having Steve in our lives.
