Jillian Tyler Houston
Jillian Tyler Houston, Lincoln, Nebraska, passed away October 29th, 2024, from a brain aneurysm at 45. She was born on December 30th, 1978, in Lincoln, Nebraska. She is survived by her 8 children, Matthew (22), Tyler (20), Blake (19), Samantha(17), Tessa(15), Judah(14), Atticus(12), and Ireland(6). Her siblings, Cody (48), Aspen (46), Ashley (44), and Kate (36). She is also survived by her good friends, and many other people who were touched by her beautiful spirit and vibrant personality. She worked as a patient care technician at Bryan West hospital. She worked on W6S for 8 years, and leaves behind a lifelong impact on her coworkers and her patients. She enjoyed rollerblading, singing, and had a deep love for her 8 children. She was a colorful person and had a beautifully optimistic personality. There is to be no formal burial or service. In January, there will be a Celebration of Life. She would love to know that we are having a celebration in her name, rather than a somber funeral. Dates are still being decided. Deborah Lynn Huenink
September 11, 1957 – October 29, 2024 Deborah Lynn Huenink, passed away October 29, 2024 peacefully with her family by her side after a diagnosis of a rare aggressive cancer. She was so mad that this is what was going to take her. Deb was born September 11, 1957 in Bitburg, Germany. She was one of 7 siblings to a master Sargent in the AirForce, which is why she traveled a lot of her early childhood. In 1972 her parents settled in Lincoln, NE where they owned a restaurant in the Havelock area. This is where Deb found her love for cooking and how it brought comfort to those she cooked for. She married Gale on August 7th, 1989 where they raised their small herd of children (5) together along with many various animals in Panama, NE. She loved the small-town life and the many precious friendships she made in the years she lived there. Deb was preceded in death by her dad, Rex May; mom, Dora May; Sister, Sharon May; Brother, Stuart May; Sister, Brenda and Brother-in-law, Ray Farrington. Deb is survived by her Husband Gale Huenink; her children Virginia and Steven Bauers; Wendy and Steve Wright; Raymond Scott; Melissa Klassen; Cori Hofmeister and Kristen Sharkey; Reese and Kelly Huenink. Her grandchildren Kolby Nelson, Kade Klassen, Trevor Curtis, Skylar Curtis, Toby Scott, Austin Scott, Jaxson Huenink, Cooper Huenink, Quinn Huenink, and James Hofmeister. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday November 2, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Panama Presbyterian Church; 201 Pine Street, Panama NE. Memorials in the form of flowers may be sent to the church for the service or if you would like to make a donation in lieu of flowers, please make them out to Panama Presbyterian Church. Patricia Ruth Holwell
Patricia Ruth (Hemler) Holwell, a long-time resident of Hot Springs, SD, passed away at age 95 on Sunday, October 27th, 2024, at the Grace Space in Lincoln, NE.
Pat was born on March 9, 1929, in Hot Springs, South Dakota to (William) Bryan Hemler and Margie (Davis) Hemler. Pat was honored to call her stepfather, Clarence “Cole” Wonder, her Papa for many years.
Amongst other professional pursuits, Pat was honored to serve as an office assistant for the office of Governors George Mickelson, Sr. and Sigurd Anderson and the Hot Springs Veteran’s Administration Hospital.
On May 13, 1961, Pat married Robert Holwell. Together, they raised their three children from previous unions and added three children to the family. In addition to taking great pride as a homemaker and mother, Pat was honored to work alongside Bob as a chiropractic assistant at his offices in Hot Springs and Faith, SD.
Over the years, Pat was active with the Civil Air Patrol, 4-H, Cub/Boy Scouts, the Order of Eastern Star, Daughters of the Nile, Job’s Daughters, various church organizations, Meals on Wheels, the Fall River County Election Board, and the Miss South Dakota Pageant.
She is survived by her children Jill (Everardo) Evangelista, David, Robert II (Hillary), Scott (Judy), and Tricia Parker; 13 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, son, David Headman, and her husband, Bob.
A memorial open house has been scheduled for Saturday, November 9 from 1-2:30 at Legacy Terrace in Lincoln, NE, and her ashes are to be scattered near family at an upcoming time.
