Donald Wray Cummings died on 6 July 2018 after a long struggle with cancer. Throughout which he remained ever optimistic that he would triumph. Born 28 March 1951, in Scottsbluff, Nebraska to Don and Dorothy Cummings, he grew up in Kearney where he graduated from high school and later college. Wray moved to Lincoln where he married and gained his most treasured title of “Dad”. Wray is preceded in death by his parents and brother Kim. Wray is survived by son Christopher Cummings, daughter Katie (Josh) Kettel, and brother Jerry Cummings, all of Lincoln. Wray’s ashes will be interned at Lincoln Memorial Cemetery. Services pending at a later date. The family requests any memoriam be sent to the Capital Humane Society.

Ruby E. Spaedt, 84, of Wilber Nebraska, formerly of Eaton Colorado, died June 28th, 2018 at Bryan Medical Center in Lincoln Nebraska. She was born March 21st, 1934 to Eli McKibbon and Mary (Goodin) McKibbon in Oklahoma. In 1949 she married Cleman Bryant. They lived in the Oklahoma area where she worked in food service. She married Frank Strong in 1953 in Muleshoe Texas. They lived and worked in Texas, later moving to Colorado where she worked for the Eaton School District in food service, and then for Kodak of Colorado. Ruby married Bill Spaedt in 1979 in Greeley, Colorado. They lived and worked in the Eaton area. She loved gardening and making her home beautiful. She was known for making every plant she touched grow. Ruby is survived by her sons Jim Alan Bryant of Evans, CO; Steve Strong of Mesquite, NV; and daughter Beth Reichert of Wilber NE; 14 Grandchildren, 15 Great Grandchildren, and 3 Great-Great Grandchildren; sisters Opal Kirk of Sherman, Texas, Peggy Dyer of Loveland, CO; and brother Ken McKibbon of Sherman, Texas. She was preceded in death by her infant daughter Pricilla Bryant, her parents, and eight brothers. She was a generous person and loved her family. She was known for how much she loved to talk and never knew a stranger. Graveside service at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday July 7, 2018 at the Eaton Cemetery at Eaton, Colorado with reception to follow at the conference room at Cobblestone Inn — 485 S Elm Rd. Eaton, CO 80615.
