Born: October 12, 1930, Osceola, Nebraska Died: September 23, 2018, Lincoln, Nebraska at Lancaster Rehab Betty was the daughter of Axel Julius Anderson and Mabel Vera (Ingham) Anderson. She was retired from ISCO where she had worked for many years. She was a former member of the Lincoln 147 Eagles Club. Betty loved playing Bingo, dancing, traveling and spending time with family and friends. She was known to many as “Betty Boop” or “G-ma”. Betty is survived by her daughters – Catherine (Lonnie) Rech of Davey, NE, Donna (Brian) Warner-Taylor, April Barker both of Lincoln, NE, Linda (Larry) Brown, Pekin, IL and son Patrick Carter, Colorado Springs, CO. Grandchildren, Scott (Terra) Rech, Craig (Nicole) Rech, Jason (Melanie) Barker, Shari Nitz, Jessica (Patrick) Double, Jonathan Nitz, Shelby Ann Carter, Tanya Brown, Michael Brown, many Great Grandchildren, Great Great Grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Axel & Mabel Anderson, sister Virginia M. Strong; brothers Alfred Anderson and Donald Anderson; grandson Justin Barker, and former spouses Harland George and Verlin Carter. She was currently residing at Lancaster Rehab in Lincoln, NE, and a former resident at Crestview Home, Milford, NE. We thank both of these agencies for the wonderful care that she received. Betty Jean Roberts, age 89 died Monday September 17, 2018 in Lincoln. Born January 9th 1929 to Adolph and Elizabeth (Muntz) Bott in Atwood, Colorado. Betty worked at a number of jobs throughout her life but the most rewarding were her times as Manager of the Bonanza Restaurants in Beatrice and Lincoln, and her years spent as cashier at Mettlers Bakery & Klein’s Grocery and Super Saver Grocery from which she retired at the age of 87 years. She was a Life member of the Women’s Auxiliary of the VFW having served as President of the Auxiliary at Post 131, the District 7 level and finally as President of the Women’s Auxiliary of the VFW for the State of Nebraska. Member First Plymouth Congregational Church. Survivors include sons Bruce & friend Mesha of Lincoln, Lloyd (Diana) of Lincoln, grandchildren Tiffany (Jim) Baker, Sean, Heather and Brandi Roberts, Great grandchildren, Liam and Sophia Baker, and Liam Roberts. Brother Milton (Barbara) Bott of Arizona, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, granddaughter Brooke Roberts, sisters and husbands Dorothy (Ted) Ranft, Jeanette (Dale) French, Geraldine (Wayne) Hauck and sister-in-law Patricia Bott. The family will have a private celebration of life service. Cremation, no visitation. Memorials may be made to the Nebraska Alzheimer’s Foundation or The Capitol Humane Society. The family would like to extend a Special Thank You to Lancaster Manor Rehabilitation Center – Station 5 and to Hospice Community Care for all of their wonderful care and compassion provided to Betty.
