Mark Allen Schmucker “Schmuck”

Mark Allen Schmucker “Schmuck” of Palmyra, Nebraska, age 65, passed away unexpectedly April 1, 2019 at Bryan West Hospital in Lincoln, Nebraska.  He was born April 21, 1953 to Joe and June Schmucker.  Mark graduated from Lincoln High School and went on to work for BNSF Railroad where he retired from after 40 years of service.  He loved to travel and loved to party with family and friends and have some cold beer and a good time.  His dream was to have his own farm someday, and that was fulfilled when he bought his farm in Palmyra.  He was happy there.  He enjoyed gardening and canning.  He also enjoyed going to the sprint car races, the World of Outlaws, tractor pulls, rodeos, many years of camping trips and auctions.  He loved his cameras and photography and took lots of wedding and graduation pictures for family and friends.  Mark was an avid Husker fan and watched many football games with his brother Scott.  He loved spending time with his kids and playing with his grandkids.

Mark is survived by his children Stacey J. Bigelow (Shannon), Emily N. Schmucker, Joe A. Schmucker, granddaughter Alaysha L. Schmucker, grandson Bryson Joe Mach-Schmucker, half-brother Tony Irons, brother Scott D. Schmucker, many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.  Mark was preceded in death by his parents Joe and June Schmucker and his sister Lori Jo Schmucker.

Celebration of life took place from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, April 14 at the Eagle’s Lodge, 500 W. Industrial Lake Rd. in Lincoln, NE.  Memorials to his children to help with expenses.

Aaron Fair Moon

February 20, 1924 – April 5, 2019

Aaron Fair Moon, 95, died April 5, 2019 in Lincoln, Nebraska. He was born February 20, 1924 near Motley, Minnesota to George and Belle Moon. During World War II he served as a U.S. Army medic in the South Pacific. Aaron married Evelyn Adams August 17, 1947. Aaron taught for 35 years in public or Seventh-day Adventist elementary schools. He retired at age 62.  He lived 33 years in the Cheney neighborhood of southeast Lincoln, Nebraska.

Survived by wife, Evelyn, of 71 years; daughter, Nancy (Harvey) Meier; sons, Jerry (Sue) and Larry (Joan); grandsons, Brad (Michaela) Moon, Howard Meier, and David Meier.

Come to greet family and friends from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at Holmes Lake Rehabilitation and Care Center, 6101 Normal Blvd, Lincoln, NE.

Raymond Carl Linder

On April 1, 2019 Raymond Carl Linder, age 77, passed away in Lincoln, Nebraska.  Ray was born February 4, 1942 in Red Oak, Iowa and grew up on a farm near Nyman, Iowa.  He married his high school classmate, Lyn Sawyer, on September 21, 1963.  Ray entered the Army in 1966 and served in Vietnam at Cam Ranh Bay.  He was also stationed in El Paso, Texas and Fort Story, Virginia.   Ray and Lyn had two daughters, Kristin and Julie.  Ray worked in Lincoln with BNSF Railway as a train dispatcher and then transferred to Fort Worth, Texas.  He retired from BNSF after 44 years.

He was always helpful to neighbors and friends and ready to volunteer his time and talents for neighborhood projects.   Being a farm boy, he enjoyed having a nice yard.     In his last years, Ray had become disabled due to Parkinson’s and Rheumatoid Arthritis.

Ray is survived by his wife, Lyn (Sawyer), daughters Kristin (Mike) Behnke and Julie (Cory) Fredenburg; sister and brother-in-law Linda and Ron Gerner Grandchildren Avery Short, Rider Behnke and Brynn Fredenburg.

Preceded in death by his parents Carl Raymond and Mary Ella (McMullin) Linder; father-in-law and mother-in-law Amon and Dorothy (Rider) Sawyer.

Private family graveside service to be held at a later date.   No flowers.
