Daniel Lee Jackson, 48 of Lincoln NE, passed away on 8/24/2021. He was born 3/12/1973 in Lincoln NE. Family includes: Wife, Jennifer; kids Hailey and Jared; Parents Mable Jackson, Sutton NE ; In-laws, Dale(Barb) Andersen, Lincoln NE, Archie Sukovaty, Crete NE; Sibilings Ricky Jackson,Lincoln NE, Andrew (Sue) Jackson, Fremont NE, Cheryl Cunningham, Sutton NE, Nancy( Al) Nicholson,Adams NE; Brother in-law, Craig (Shanda) Andersen, Lincoln NE, Many nieces and nephews. Proceeded by: Father, Richard Jackson; Mother In-law, Suzan Sukovaty; Brother In-law, Art Cunningham. Daniel for most of his life worked as a diesel mechanic. He had rough/stained hands and knees to prove it. Customers would follow him to where he worked at. He landed at Mark’s Services where he was the lead mechanic for the last few years. During the summer weekends you would find Daniel at Eagle Raceway or Beatrice Speedway. He raced a Hobbystock and Sportmod for many years before stepping down to teach Jared the ropes. Fellow racers often described him as a kind and ornery man that would give his shirt to anyone that needed it. Daniel was a one of a kind man that was all about his family and friends. James Robert Witter
James Robert Witter, 74, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, Aug. 18, 2021, at his home in Lincoln, Nebraska. He is survived by his sister, Joann Loos, also of Lincoln, along with nieces Dawn Witter-Moorshead, Fort Collins, Colorado.; Terri Witter-Oscar, Nebraska City, Nebraska.; Rhonda Witter, Nebraska City, Nebraska.; nephews Jeff Neeley, Omaha, Nebraska; Davey Witter, Atchison, Kansas.; and Todd Neeley, Lincoln, Nebraska.; great nieces and nephews. James was preceded in death by his father and mother, Franklin and Lorene Witter; brothers Ron Witter and David Witter. Jim was born on Jan. 15, 1947, in Seward, Neb. He served in the U.S. Army and was wounded in Vietnam. He was honorably discharged in 1968 and received the Purple Heart. He served a brief stint in Korea before returning home. Jim sacrificed so much for his country, as he lived and struggled with the aftereffects of the war for the rest of his life. Jim was an avid fan of Nebraska football, the Kansas City Chiefs, NASCAR and loved taking his nephews to stockcar races on weekends when they were kids. James enjoyed family get-togethers, telling war stories and talking all things football and politics. Jim sanded and painted jet skis at Kawasaki in Lincoln for 20 years and retired in 2009. Although Jim faced many challenges and difficulties, he always remained steadfast in his love for family and country. Services are pending. To leave a condolence please use the form below.
