Jenifer Lynn Guzinski
Jenifer Lynn Guzinski, 59, of Lincoln, passed away Tuesday, December 7, 2021, in Lincoln, from many complications she has dealt with since her pre-teen years. Jeni was born, September 6, 1962, in Lincoln, Nebraska to Gary and Lou (Bray) Salzman. Jeni grew up in Lincoln and went to a couple of different elementary schools and graduated from Lincoln East High School in 1980. She attended the culinary program at Southeast community college, garnering an associate degree, and went on to work as a cook for several years. A career change led her to Vocational Rehabilitation’s clerical program. She was then hired by the VANWIHC (VA), where she was a receptionist for several years. She later retired from Urology PC, after working there for 25 years. Jeni loved to sing to the Christian radio station. Willie Nelson, John Denver, Jimmy Buffett, Aretha Franklin, and Cher were a few of her favorite people to sing along with also. She had much compassion for all animals and nature, including dolphins and the ocean, in which she has a huge collection of various keepsake tokens. Throughout her life, she formed many beautiful relationships along the way of her occupations that she cherished immensely. She is survived by her mother Lou (Bray) Salzman, brother Jay and Donna (Dostal) Salzman, sister Joleen and Robert Perry, in-law Leonard Jr. and Shari Guzinski of Grand Island, grandchildren Lily and Sarah Riha, and Brodin Perkins, in addition to many nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Frank Guzinski, father Gary Salzman, father-in-law Leonard Sr. and mother-in-law Katheryn Guzinski, son Christopher Lee Harvey, and grandson Zechariah Harvey. Memorials to the family will go to supporting the Marfan Foundation and the Capital Humane Society. A celebration of life will be held in Lincoln at 11:00 am on Thursday, December 16, 2021, with a luncheon meal following at Christ United Methodist Church; 4530 A St, Lincoln, NE 68510. Marirose S. Force
Marirose Stanley Force passed away on December 7, 2021. She was born on February 3, 1957, in Porterville, California to Harold James and Patricia Rose (Young) Stanley. Marirose was a music teacher. She graduated from Rio Lindo Academy in 1975 and from Pacific Union College in 1977 with a Medical Transcription certificate. Having discovered that her love of music extended to teaching it, she went back to college and graduated with her degree in education from Southwestern Adventist University in 2008. On March 25, 1979, Marirose married Gary Force; together they enjoyed a full and adventurous life of service. They taught and worked at numerous Seventh-day Adventist schools across the United States, traveled extensively around the U.S., and made several trips to Europe. Most recently, Marirose and Gary relocated to Lincoln, Nebraska from Durango, Colorado, where Marirose was a patient representative at Mercy Regional Medical Center. In Lincoln, she was a cashier in the Union College Market. Marirose was known for her love of music. She is remembered by students as having extraordinary patience in teaching and reminding them to always “sing from your heart.” She was also known for her delightful laugh. She loved all animals, especially dogs, being creative, and spending time with her family. Her grandchildren were her delight. She is survived by her loving husband of 42 years Gary Force; her children Darcy (Russell) Force, Angela (Seth) Ellis, and Daniel (Roxanne) Force; grandchildren Aaron, Peyton, Enoch, Gwendolen, and Lincoln; father Jim Stanley; sister Norma (Rex) Shepherd; brother Michael (Carla) Stanley; and numerous in-laws, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother Patricia Rose Young Stanley. A service will be held on December 18, 2021, at 4:00pm at the Hankins Chapel at Campion Academy. The service will also be live-streamed. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that her love of music and education be honored by giving to music programs at the school of the giver’s choice. John C. Nickel
John C. Nickel, of Lincoln, passed away in his sleep December 4th, 2021. John was born May 6th, 1941, in Burt, Iowa, the eldest child of John L. and Karyl M. Nickel. He is survived by a brother, Robert Nickel-wife Catherine of Lincoln, and a sister Mary Kay Freeman-husband James “Pat” of White Hall, AR. John served in the Air Force in the early 1960s before moving to Iowa where he worked in building construction and was a rural mail carrier. While working in Independence, Iowa, he was also employed at the local airport where he enjoyed flying his own plane. After retirement, John moved to Kingman, AZ, for several years prior to relocating to Lincoln recently. A celebration of life is planned for May. To leave a condolence please use the form below.

LuAnn Marie Soderling
January 31, 1962 – December 5, 2021 Following a courageous battle with cancer, LuAnn has passed through the gates of Heaven. She was born in Fremont, Nebraska to Howard and Anna (Johnson) Soderling. She grew up with 3 older brothers and became a little tomboy! She was a dog lover and enjoyed spending time with golden retrievers Winston and Katie. LuAnn graduated from Cedar Bluffs High School and Nebraska Wesleyan at Lincoln. She began her teaching career at Newman Grove, and then returned to her home town of Cedar Bluffs to teach English and drama, as well as to coach volleyball, basketball, and track and field. A celebration of life will be 11:00 am on Thursday, December 9th, at Heartlands Church, 10000 Yankee Hill Rd in Lincoln. LuAnn is survived by her brothers Lonnie (Janelle) Soderling of Lincoln, Lyle Soderling of Craig, Loren (Sharon) Soderling of Fremont, long-time friend and roommate Sandy Michael of Lincoln, plus nieces and nephews. Her parents and a great-niece preceded her in death.
