Jane Peggy Hopp

Jane Hopp, 91, passed away peacefully on June 15, 2019 in Lincoln, NE.  Jane was born in Doniphan, NE to Howard and Mary Marsh.

Jane grew up and attended high school in Hastings, NE where she met her sweetheart, Cliff Hopp.  The couple married on June 8, 1950 and settled in Columbus, NE. Jane was a loving mother to their three daughters.  She was a substitute teacher and later became Christian Education Director at Federated Church.  Jane was an avid golfer and gardener and loved to play bridge.

Jane is survived by her three daughters:  Marsha (Rick) Joseph of Tampa, FL.  Jane Kay (Mike) Beltz of  Plano, TX.  Trish (Mike) Ross of Lincoln, NE.  Brother Dwight (Jane) Marsh of Hastings, NE.  7 grand kids, 7 great grand kids and several nieces and nephews.

Services were on Thursday, June 20th at 10:30 a.m. at Federated Church in Columbus 2704 15th Street.

Mark Anthony Harmon

Mark Anthony Harmon, 58 of Lincoln passed away after a battle with cancer he fought with warrior strength. Born September 13, 1960 to Charles Harmon and Sheila (Prosser) Harmon. Long time owner of Magic Trowel Construction. He believed in hard work and poured concrete all over the Lincoln area. He loved to play guitar and sang with an amazing soulful voice. He loved his wife and family with great passion. He loved his friends, which are many. If he hollered at you, then he really loved you.

He is survived by his wife Robin, sisters Sandy Boles and Debbie Hammon and brother Jeff Harmon, many nieces and nephews and countless friends.

Celebration of Mark’s life was on Saturday, June 1, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at First Evangelical Free Church, 3280 South 84th Street in Lincoln.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family for future designation.

Marilyn K. Henry

Marilyn K. Henry, 80, of Lincoln, died surrounded by her family on May 14, 2019, at Bryan Medical Center East Campus. She was born on June 24, 1938, in North Platte, to Oscar Henry and Joyce (Reitan) Henry.

She loved her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brother and sister and was much beloved by all of them. Marilyn was passionate about travel, classical music and opera, her cats, her flower and herb garden, clouds, and her large circle of friends. She was a voracious reader and was most happy when she was learning. She had a master’s degree in educational psychology from the University of Nebraska and had a long career as a social worker for the elderly at Madonna Professional Care Center and later the Aging Partners office in Lincoln. She was a volunteer docent at the Sheldon Museum of Art and loved talking to children about the art there.

She is survived by her three children, Chris Welsch, Paris; Jenny Welsch, Lincoln, and Joyce Welsch, Lincoln (Shawn Renner); her grandchildren, Jacinda, Craig and Ian; and her great-grandchildren, Torrin, Mira, Kendall, Orion, Charles, Carmalee, Camille, and Cristian; her brother, Ed Henry, San Diego (Connie), sister, Galen Boyle, Colorado Springs (Rich).

A memorial service will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. at the Unitarian Church of Lincoln, 6300 A St. Memorials to the Unitarian Church of Lincoln.

Jerry was born in Hooper, Nebraska to Fred and Anna Hunteman.

Passed away on April 4, 2019 in Lincoln, Nebraska

Survived by his sister Marianne Schuler; step children Linda Wetzler, Lesa (Gary) Johnson, Robin (Rob) Schwab, Jeff (Christie) Ward; nieces and nephews; and special cousin Roger Hunteman.
