Michael Lee Davis
Michael “Mike” L. Davis, 65, passed away July 5th, 2020. Born December 18th, 1954 to Robert L. and Patricia A. Davis in Lincoln, NE. Mike was a finish carpenter and fine craftsman who could make beauty out of the most twisted and broken things–especially out of wood. He enjoyed sports, and played on many church or rec league teams over the years–baseball/softball, bowling, volleyball, basketball, etc. Mike loved food, most of all he loved ice cream, bacon, and loads of cheese! Many will fondly remember him (& the Davis boys) for his healthy appetite at church potlucks and restaurant buffets. Gone before Mike in death was his beloved mother, Patricia Ann (Spilinek) Davis, his grandparents, and other relatives. Mike is survived by father, Robert Davis, of Overland Park, KS; a daughter, Rebekah (Beka) Keyser and her husband Kevin, grandson Barrett (Mr. B to Grandpa Mike), all of Redlands, CA; granddaughter Sarrah Hudson, of Lincoln, NE; sister Barbara Meiss & husband Mike, of Overland Park, KS; sister Cynthia Salzman & husband Steve, of Brooksville, FL; brother Alan Davis & wife Jheri Keith Alkire, of Saugerties, NY; sister Sheryl Collins & husband Bill, of Mainesburg, PA; brother James & wife Stacy, of Arnold, MO; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and special lifelong friends. He didn’t know a stranger, and that was something of a family trait shared by the Davis/Spilinek families. An ice cream social with all of Mike’s favorite foods and a memorial service is planned for October 10th, 2020 at 2:00 pm at Antelope Park outdoor shelter (alternate site in case of inclement weather, Temple Baptist Church). Memorials may be given in his name to the American Diabetes Association at diabetes.org and the JDRF.org if so desired. To leave a condolence, please use the form below.
