Born: October 12, 1930, Osceola, Nebraska Died: September 23, 2018, Lincoln, Nebraska at Lancaster Rehab Betty was the daughter of Axel Julius Anderson and Mabel Vera (Ingham) Anderson. She was retired from ISCO where she had worked for many years. She was a former member of the Lincoln 147 Eagles Club. Betty loved playing Bingo, dancing, traveling and spending time with family and friends. She was known to many as “Betty Boop” or “G-ma”. Betty is survived by her daughters – Catherine (Lonnie) Rech of Davey, NE, Donna (Brian) Warner-Taylor, April Barker both of Lincoln, NE, Linda (Larry) Brown, Pekin, IL and son Patrick Carter, Colorado Springs, CO. Grandchildren, Scott (Terra) Rech, Craig (Nicole) Rech, Jason (Melanie) Barker, Shari Nitz, Jessica (Patrick) Double, Jonathan Nitz, Shelby Ann Carter, Tanya Brown, Michael Brown, many Great Grandchildren, Great Great Grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Axel & Mabel Anderson, sister Virginia M. Strong; brothers Alfred Anderson and Donald Anderson; grandson Justin Barker, and former spouses Harland George and Verlin Carter. She was currently residing at Lancaster Rehab in Lincoln, NE, and a former resident at Crestview Home, Milford, NE. We thank both of these agencies for the wonderful care that she received. Donald Wray Cummings died on 6 July 2018 after a long struggle with cancer. Throughout which he remained ever optimistic that he would triumph. Born 28 March 1951, in Scottsbluff, Nebraska to Don and Dorothy Cummings, he grew up in Kearney where he graduated from high school and later college. Wray moved to Lincoln where he married and gained his most treasured title of “Dad”. Wray is preceded in death by his parents and brother Kim. Wray is survived by son Christopher Cummings, daughter Katie (Josh) Kettel, and brother Jerry Cummings, all of Lincoln. Wray’s ashes will be interned at Lincoln Memorial Cemetery. David Canada Jr. was born to Eula M Canada in Baltimore, Maryland. David was educated in the Baltimore area and graduated from Baltimore City College High School. David leaves behind his loving wife of 33 years, Roslyn, four sons, Garrison Kimble, David (Monique), Anthony (Suzanna) and Alston (Mallory) Canada, 10 grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends. David also leaves his mother Eula M. Canada and his brother A. Darnell (Leslie) Canada both residing in Baltimore. David was a U.S. Army veteran and was employed with Tenneco for 14 years upon his death. David had many interests and hobbies, that included body building, cycling, fishing, watching sports, and dancing. David was well-known for his love of music and named his beloved dog, Frankie after R&B musician, Frankie Beverly. In respect for David’s wishes, no services are scheduled. Melba Ione Cheney (Banks) was born February 12, 1927 to Margaret (McHale) and Ora Banks of Bladen, Nebraska. She went to be with Jesus on April 8, 2018. Melba was a country school teacher, retired from American Stores and then retired again from JCM Electric where she worked for many years. Melba was married to her husband Bob for 69 years.
