Sherrye Marlene Synak

Sherrye Marlene Synak of Waverly, Nebraska passed with her family by her side on July 9th, 2022. Sherrye was born on March 22, 1947 in Lincoln, Nebraska to Stan and Edna Reid.

Sherrye met and later married the love of her life, Patrick Larry Synak. Pat and Sherrye married on Oct 10th, 1975. They had two children, Corri Machel Synak and Jeffrey James Synak.  Jeff and his wife Camille gave her two beloved grandchildren, Ava and Landis.

Sherrye enjoyed her family, interior design, flowers and plants. She was a social butterfly who made friends throughout her life as she moved through Nebraska, Colorado, Minnesota, Florida, and then back home to Nebraska. Some of her favorite times were captured on Capitol Beach Lake with all of the lake friends and family.

Sherrye is preceded by her father, mother and step mother: Stan Reid, Edna McClees, Margery Seidel.

Survived by her husband Patrick Synak, daughter Corri Synak, son Jeffrey Synak and his wife Camille Synak. Grandchildren Ava and Landis Synak.

Sherrye will always be known for her infectious laughter and stubbornness. She will be dearly missed by all.

Celebration of Life will be held at Milkweed Event Space Thursday July 14, 2022 from 5:00-8:00 p.m.; 6220 Havelock Ave Suite 1, Lincoln, NE 68507.

Memorials to the family for future designation or donation to the Alzheimer’s Association in her memory.

Marlene Herrmann

Marlene Lavonne Herrmann, 90, passed away peacefully at Tabitha in Crete, NE surrounded by family. Born to Robert Kenneth Martin and Willamette Irene Carson on October 23, 1931, in Kearney, Nebraska.

Marlene was married to Carroll Herrmann on August 24, 1952. They started their life together in Kearney, NE, and moved to Broomfield, CO soon after. They had two children together, Richard and Kristin. Marlene was a nurse for many years and later got a degree in interior design where she followed her love for decorating and floral design. She worked at Design Works, a prominent floral design company in Denver. After the passing of Carroll, Marlene lived with daughter Kristin and son-in-law Scott in Roca, NE.

She spent the last days of her life living at Tabitha in Crete. Above all Marlene treasured being with her family and loved spending time with her kids and grandkids.

Marlene is preceded in death by her husband Carroll, brother Jerome, and sister Donna.

Marlene is survived by her two children Richard Herrmann and Kristin Heaton, brother Stan Martin, sister Trudy Else, seven grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held Sunday July 10, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. at City Lights South; 5201 Old Cheney Road in Lincoln. Luncheon to follow.

Lyle L. Hunt

Lyle Hunt, 81, of Lincoln, Nebraska peacefully passed away on June 29, 2022 from COVID-related complications. Lyle was born on February 12, 1941 in Lincoln, Nebraska to Vernard Hunt and Arvilla (Nestle) Hunt. Lyle served active duty in the US Navy for 4 years. Upon returning to Lincoln, Lyle met Rosemary (Wagner) Hunt, the love of his life and wife of 57 years. For over 20 years, Lyle worked as a Xerox representative before retiring in 1994. His interests included camping and watching bull riding, and Lyle was an avid HAM radio operator. During his retirement, Lyle and Rosemary travelled around the country, enjoying the occasional job in places like Branson, Missouri and Estes Park, Colorado to stay connected and meet people. Their travels also allowed them to play and visit with family. Lyle would quickly endear himself to both strangers and friends alike. No one remained a stranger for long. The only thing Lyle loved more than meeting people was his unwavering love and dedication to Rosemary, his children, his grandchildren and extended family.

Survivors include his wife, Rosemary; Daughter and son-in-law Deirdre Walton and Wade Walton of Lincoln, Son and daughter-in-law Jon Hunt and Claire Goldbloom of Portland, Oregon; Grandchildren Madelyn Walton and Mitchell Walton of Lincoln Nebraska; Grandchildren Eddie Hunt, Leo Hunt and Milo Hunt of Portland, Oregon; and Brother Wayne Hunt of Denton, Nebraska.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Isles Pub and Pizza social hall (6232 Havelock Ave) on Tuesday, July 5th from 4pm to 7pm.

Memorials in lieu of flowers to the Council to Human Rights Campaign or PFLAG Lincoln.
