Evelyn Marie Kimminau (Skalka), 88, of Lincoln, Nebraska passed away Friday June 8, 2018 at Holmes Lake Manor. Evelyn was born August 3, 1929, in Spring Ranch, Nebraska. She was the daughter of the late Emil and Caroline Skalka. Evelyn was a kind-hearted woman; loving, supportive wife and devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a talented homemaker who enjoyed baking, playing the accordion, dancing, needlepointing, and babysitting her grandchildren. She was an active member of the South Central Czech Society in Hastings, the Altar Society of North American Martyrs and Capital City Czech Choraliers in Lincoln. She was the love of her late husband, Leo, of 65 years. She is survived by their children: Gary Kimminau and his wife Beth of Lincoln, NE, Carolyn Romohr and husband Monte of Gresham, NE, Donald Kimminau of Tampa, FL and Kathy Higgins and husband Jim of O’Fallon, MO; 6 grandchildren: Erica Romohr of Omaha, NE, Philip Romohr of Apex, NC, Tracy Barkmeier of Lincoln, NE, Tara Kimminau of Lincoln, NE, and Lucas and Lauren Higgins of O’Fallon, MO; 3 great-grandchildren: Isabelle, Nathan, and Lizzy Romohr of Apex, NC. She is also survived by her only sister Velma Hajny of Hastings, NE, sister-in-law Agnes Britten of Superior, NE and many nieces and nephews. Services were held Wednesday, June 20, 2018, at North American Martyrs Catholic Church, 1101 Isaac Drive, Lincoln, NE. Rosary at 10:00 am, Greeting the family at 10:15 am, Funeral Mass at 11:00 am, and luncheon to follow. Memorials will be directed by the family. Florissa ShaRay Simmons went home to be with her heavenly Father and Creator June 5, 2018 after a courageous fight with cancer. Florissa is the daughter of Erin Renee Simmons and Jimmy Lynn Simmons. Florissa was born November 20, 1997. She is survived by her mother and father Erin Renee Simmons and Jimmy Lynn Simmons, sisters Jasmine Rose Simmons, and Erica Renee Simmons, grandmother Mary Katherine Reynolds (Lee) and uncle Jason Lee Kunz. Born – August 7, 1934 Carolyn Joyce Stuvick, daughter of William and Opal Stuvick entered the gates of Heaven on June 1, 2018. She was raised in the Red Oak, Iowa area with 3 siblings, William (Bill), Betty, and Joanne. Throughout all her life Carolyn loved to shop, was a compassionate animal lover, and enjoyed travel. Carolyn married Wayne H. Waldron, and to this union six children were born, Linda, Diane, Wayne, Joyce, Steve, and Marci. Carolyn’s family relocated to the Lincoln, NE area in the mid-60’s where she was employed at the Lincoln Telephone Company. She was later married to Lyle Judson and ran the ‘Corner Tavern’ in Swanton, NE. In her later years, she was again united in marriage to Byron Harder. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents William and Opal Stuvick and sisters Betty Fuller and Joanne Graham. She is survived by her brother Bill and her children Linda Kyzer of Cabot, AR, Diane Foreman of Duncan, OK, Wayne Waldron of Rosston, AR, Joyce McGlothin of Spokane, WA, Steve (Deb) Waldron of Kramer, NE, and Marci Wilhelm of Crete, NE; 18 grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren. David Canada Jr. was born to Eula M Canada in Baltimore, Maryland. David was educated in the Baltimore area and graduated from Baltimore City College High School. David leaves behind his loving wife of 33 years, Roslyn, four sons, Garrison Kimble, David (Monique), Anthony (Suzanna) and Alston (Mallory) Canada, 10 grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends. David also leaves his mother Eula M. Canada and his brother A. Darnell (Leslie) Canada both residing in Baltimore. David was a U.S. Army veteran and was employed with Tenneco for 14 years upon his death. David had many interests and hobbies, that included body building, cycling, fishing, watching sports, and dancing. David was well-known for his love of music and named his beloved dog, Frankie after R&B musician, Frankie Beverly. In respect for David’s wishes, no services are scheduled.
