Teodora (Tina) Torres, 77, passed away peacefully on June 5th in her Lincoln home,
surrounded by her loving family. Tina was born in Havana Cuba to Antonio Perez and Carmen Aquila Perez. Preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Torres. The couple
resided in Florida for many happy years then moved to Lincoln, Nebraska. Tina is survived by her three children: Stella (Donna) Salas Correa, Richard (Theresa) Betancourt, and Carmen Arguello.

Her grandchildren include: Chris Gonzalez, Ryan (Kim) Peterson, Sean Catalanotto, Ashley Peterson, Chelsea (Taylor) Ford,
Courtney (Corey) Miller, Elliot Paul, and Cadence Gonzalez. Tina was blessed with seven great grandchildren.

She cherished family and togetherness throughout her life. Tina had a very energetic spirit and shared her compassion for living. At Tina’s request, no services will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Capital Humane Society of Lincoln. Our family wishes to thank Horisun Hospice and Tina’s dear friends, Denise, Debbie and Doug for their care and support. We are humbled by the compassion and prayers of friends, coworkers, and family, during our dear mother’s last days.

“Patti” Patricia Ann Alexander

01/29/1945  –  05/30/2019

A wonderful mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and great friend who will be missed by so many.

Patti was a resident of Lincoln, Nebraska at the time of passing. She is formerly from Paramount, California and originally from Athol, Massachusetts.

Patti was President of the American Legion Post 134 in Paramount, California. She loved to golf with the Lions Club. When she moved to Nebraska, she became an avid Husker fan as well. She loved to play bingo on the weekend and she loved spending time with her kids. She loved getting manicures and pedicures. She looked forward to time with the grand kids, and of course the great grand kids.

Patti loved her independence when living at Burke Plaza with her friends and being a senior companion in the community. She loved helping people out. Her and friends at Burke loved doing puzzles and watching the Huskers play football together. She just loved people.

Preceded by parents George and Elizabeth (Pratt) Purrington and brother William Purrington.

Surviving family includes her son Melvin “Mel” Alexander; and daughters Elizabeth Sarvat, Leona Selby and Teresa Connor;  sisters Rita MacLean and Barbara Budzinski; 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; & countless friends.

Celebration of Patti’s life was on Saturday, June 1, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Burke Plaza, 6721 L Street in Lincoln.

Memorials to the family for future designation.

Maxine M. Goetsch

Maxine M. Goetsch passed away peacefully on May 25th, 2019 in Omaha, Nebraska. Maxine was born on June 1st, 1925 in Clarks, Nebraska to Merle and Nellie (Lind) LaVelle.

She graduated from Polk High School in 1943. Maxine married Elmer (Curly) Garner and to this union 3 children were born. She later married Glen Goetsch on December 22nd, 1985 in Lincoln, Nebraska where they resided for 25 years.

She retired from the Hordville Post Office in 1985 after serving for 33 years. She was very active in her church at United Methodist Church in Polk, Nebraska and Lakeview United Methodist Church in Lincoln, Nebraska. She also enjoyed golfing.

Maxine is survived by her son Danny Garner of St. Paul, Nebraska, daughter Susan VanHousen of Stromsburg, Nebraska, step-son Mike Goetsch and his wife Teri of Lincoln, Nebraska; 9 grandchildren, 19 great-grand children and 3 great-great grandchildren; sister Marie Clymer of Omaha, Nebraska; and brother Jack LaVelle of Lincoln, Nebraska.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Glen, daughter Marcene Reidy, great-grandson Nick Galvan, great-granddaughter Nicole Lynn Perales, and two brothers, Bill and Ralph LaVelle.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:30 AM on June 5th, 2019 at Lakeview United Methodist Church, 230 Capitol Beach Blvd. in Lincoln, Nebraska. Memorials are suggested to Swede Plain Cemetery.
