Brandon Dainis Ziemelis
Brandon Dainis Ziemelis, 38, of Lincoln, passed away on November 2nd, 2020. He was born on October 15th, 1982 to Sharol D. Murrell and Ilmars Ziemelis. He was a loving father and son. The pride of his life were his daughters and family above all. He loved collecting antiques; he always knew how to find valuable and beautiful items, and dreamed of opening an antique shop. He had a kind and generous personality, and a smile that lit up the room. Brandon was a unique individual that could be easy friends with anyone, and held no judgement or ill will in his heart. Brandon was a plumber, taught by his father and recently wanted to open a plumbing business for ex-convicts. As a former convict himself, he easily sympathized and understood the struggle of working after incarceration and hoped to help others in the same situation. He is survived by his parents, Sharol D. Murrell and Ilmars Ziemelis; step-father Doug Murrell, step-mother Donna Ziemelis, his paternal grandmother, Austra Ziemelis, half-sister Sylvia Holloway, step-sister Roxana Woodcock, step-brothers Alex Murrell and Ben Murrell, daughters, Samara Ross-Ziemelis and Persephone Mulske, the lifelong friend and mother of Samara, Megan Ross, as well as countless cousins and friends. A memorial will be held from 1 pm to 4 pm at his family’s home, 7041 Colby Street, Lincoln, on Saturday, November 7th. Our family kindly asks you to consider donating to Shatterproof, a nonprofit organization that focuses on ending the stigma and struggle of drug abuse. James Lee Rogers
James L. “JimBob” Rogers was born 1/13/1963 in Huntsville, Arkansas and lived most of his life in Lincoln, NE. Jim was well known for his mischievous belly laugh and ornery personality. People recognized him for his blue eyes and a contagious grin. Jim was a lover of music, and never turned down a chance to “go for a ride” so he could crank the car radio and “get funky” or “boogie” as he liked to say. He was a very caring person and always asked whomever he met how they were doing, just to make sure they were “pretty good, now”. James appreciated the little things in life that others take for granted, and all who knew him understood his love of a good hamburger and root beer. Jim could often be heard humming and singing his thoughts, with a classic chant being, “Can of pop!!” to his unique tune. Enjoying a soda with Jim was a privilege to all who experienced it and made you a friend in his eyes. In recent years, Jim underwent health challenges that would crumble an average person. Jim took each day in stride and defied the expectations of his doctors on more than one occasion to regain his health and live out the rest of his days in the best way possible. Jim was an example of perseverance and inner strength. Those who loved him learned what it meant to love unconditionally. Jim passed suddenly but peacefully on November 2, 2020 with those he knew as family by his side. Jim will be laid to rest next to his parents, Julia and Robert Rogers in Lincoln Memorial Cemetery, 6800 South 14th Street, Lincoln, NE. In lieu of services due to the coronavirus pandemic, those who knew Jim are invited to share photos, videos and memories of Jim which will be compiled into a memorial video to be shared at a later time. Please contact Leslie Walters at 402-840-7485 or lwalters@regionvservices.com to share anything that was special to you about Jim. To leave a condolence please use the form below.
