Christine “Chris” Ann Haines

Born on September 19, 1951.

Passed away on July 18, 2019.

Preceded in death by her father Jerome, her son Daniel.

Survived by her mother Jeannette, her son Scott, brothers Doug, Steve, Rick, her sister Karen, and granddaughter Jasmine, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside service at Calvary Catholic Cemetery at 7710 West Center Road Omaha Nebraska on August 10th at 10:30 a m. After service there is a luncheon at Community Bible Church, 9001 Q Street, Omaha Nebraska. We will be meeting at the annex building which is just south of the church in their parking lot.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Muscular Dystrophy Association of Nebraska as these were Chris’s wishes. Please note the donation is to stay in Nebraska.  Thank you.

Carol J. Harding

Carol J. Harding, age 95, died on Sunday July, 14, 2019 at Southlake Village Rehabilitation & Care Center in Lincoln, NE.  She was previously a resident of Portage, WI for over 60 years. The daughter of James and Nellie (Jenkins) Harmes, Carol was born on April, 3, 1924 in the Village of Fall River, WI.  She married Neale “Dick” Harding on June 4, 1949 and together they raised six children. 

 

Carol was a Registered Nurse and served as the Columbia County Nurse her first few years nursing, then an RN at Divine Savior Hospital, and lastly an RN at Divine Savior Nursing Home all while residing in Portage, WI.  Some of her favorite activities after retiring from nursing were spending time with family, reading, going for walks, and feeding/watching the birds and squirrels.

 

Carol is survived by five of her children: Marc (Deb Richardson) Harding, Baileys Harbor, WI; Julie Harding (Joe Kroeninger), Lakeville, MN; Ann Harding (Jeff Ernst), Melbourne Beach, FL; Jeff Harding, Golden, CO; Sara Harding, Lincoln, NE; and Daughter-in-law Mary Ann Harding, Homer AK.  She is also survived by five grandchildren: Carinna Harding (Matt Marek), Billy Beaman (Alix), Jessi Beaman, Spencer Harding-McDermott (fiancée Tori Dougherty), Calla Harding-McDermott, and three great grandsons: Paul, Noah, and Edward Marek. Carol was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Scott Harding and three brothers Douglas Harmes, Robert Harmes, and Richard Harmes.

 

Aspen Cremation and Burial Service of Lincoln, NE is assisting the family and a private inurnment ceremony will be held at a later date in Wisconsin.   In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in Carol’s name to:  Portage Public Library, 253 West Edgewater Street, Portage, WI 53901 or your local Humane Society.  A special thank you to the staff at: Clark Jeary Retirement Community, Southlake Village Rehabilitation & Care Center, and AseraCare Hospice all of Lincoln, NE for the care they each provided at different times since Carol moved to Lincoln, NE in May of 2016.

Barbara J. Horton, 65, of Lincoln, passed away Thursday July 4, 2019. Born December 15, 1953 in Hastings, NE to LaVerne and Evelyn (Parr) Horton.

Survivors: Son, Alex Wolfe and wife Jade. Daughter, Katie Kempf and husband Roger. 4 Grandchildren

Mother, Evelyn Horton of Hastings; Brothers, Robert Horton, Hastings, Daniel Horton of Hastings. Sisters, Cynthia Dudley of Clovis, Calif., Beverly Sommer of Grand Island, Lisa Marten, Halsey, Peggy Zabloudil, Omaha, Sarah Jurgensmeier, Wahoo.

Preceded in death by her father, Laverne Horton and brother Creighton Horton both of Hastings.
