Wayne Wendell Hurd

Wayne Wendell Hurd passed away peacefully on Friday, August 23rd 2019 in the Journey House at Tabitha.

He was born in Lincoln Nebraska on May 22nd 1933 to Charles Anson Hurd and Pearl Marguerite (Jester) Hurd. He graduated from Lincoln High School and went on to attend the University of Nebraska Lincoln. Then was drafted by the Army in 1952 and served until 1955 in the Korean War. Wayne retired from Precision Bearing.

He was a dedicated loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.

He had 45 years of marriage to his wife Sandra (Pinneo) Hurd. He is survived by his wife Sandra, son Aaron Hurd(Angie) of Lincoln, daughters Lori Lubben (Jeff) of Lincoln, Renee Denning(Curt) McCool Junction, .Sister-in-law Karolyn Turner of Adams, NE, Steve Hurd Lincoln, Robin and LeAnne of California and sister-in-law Betty Hurd of Lincoln . He had nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Delbert, sister Eleanor and grandson Andrew.

Celebration of life will be on Saturday, September 21, 2019 from 1:00 to 3:30 pm at the Ferguson House at 700 South 16th Street in Lincoln.

Memorials may be given to the family for a charitable donation to be made in Wayne’s memory at a later date. Condolences may be left below.

Trent S. Hellbusch

Trent Sean Hellbusch passed away on Thursday, August 8th, 2019 in his home surrounded by family and friends.

He was born on December 8, 1963 in Lincoln, NE to Dennis and Marie Hellbusch. Trent attended Southeast High School, and joined the Army after graduation. There, he served as a cook and met this wife, Rebecca in Colorado Springs, where they were married. After his time in the Army, Trent and Rebecca settled in Lincoln, and opened T&R’s Garden in 1994. Trent loved his time there cooking and serving others. In 2008, he rejoined the Army through the National Guard, and was deployed to Iraq in 2010. Upon his return, he worked as a Property Book Manager during the week, while still serving as an NCO in the Nebraska National Guard, excelling in his passion of cooking, and leading others.  He has impacted hundreds of lives through his life of service, and was always willing to lend a helping hand. Trent was a reliable leader and friend that you could count on for anything.

He is survived by wife, Rebecca, children Brent and Brianna, and son in law Brandon.

Memorial Service was held on Friday, August 16, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Christ Lincoln Church, 4325 Sumner Street in Lincoln.
