Ron L. Fox
Ronnie (Ron) LeRoy Fox passed away surrounded by family on June 3, 2023 at the age of 78. Ron was born in Geneva, Nebraska on June 30, 1944 to David and Phyllis (Caton) Fox. The family moved to Lincoln where Ron graduated from Northeast High School in 1962 and Nebraska Wesleyan in 1966, with a degree in Business Administration. As a sophomore in high school Ron met Kay (Shuman), and the couple married on August 5th, 1967. They had two daughters, Heather and Kindra. As a family they spent many summers camping and traveling together. Ron and Kay enjoyed traveling to National Parks around the country with family and friends. Their devotion to each other was an inspiration. Ron played sports in high school, college, and throughout his adult life. He was a letter winner and team captain on Nebraska Wesleyan’s football team. For forty years Ron participated in slow pitch softball as a player, coach, and league administrator. In 1967 his team won the inaugural Nebraska Men’s Slow Pitch State Championship. He was voted MVP of the 1971 State Tournament and in 2000 Ron was inducted into the Nebraska Softball Hall of Fame. Ron enjoyed officiating high school wrestling, playing pick-up basketball games, playing co-ed volleyball with Kay, and coaching and attending his daughter’s and granddaughter’s sporting events. In January 1979 Ron started Fox Claims Service, Inc., where he worked as owner and operator for nearly forty years. He obtained his relator license and sold homes as a secondary source of income. Ron was good with numbers and conversing with people, which served him well in both endeavors. Ron was as kind and humble as he was tall and strong. He could both literally and figuratively carry his family on his shoulders. Ron encouraged his children to treat others the way they wanted to be treated. He was patient and encouraging and always had a hug waiting for his loved ones. The past seventeen years Ron’s favorite pastime was spending time with his granddaughter with whom he shared a special bond. He lives on in the hearts of family and friends. Robert Lee Fullerton
Robert Lee Fullerton passed away peacefully at home on March 30, 2023 with his wife of 38 years at his side. He was 67 years old. Bob was born in Fremont, Nebraska on May 17th, 1955 to Bob and Virginia Fullerton. His formative years revolved around his immediate family of 9, while living in Des Moines & Omaha. Bob had an exceptional bond with his 3 brothers and 3 sisters. He was a natural athlete and passionate about a wide variety of sports. Personally, he participated in skateboarding, wrestling, gymnastics, skiing, fast-pitch softball, baseball, youth football and soccer. He was a state champion wrestler at Omaha Central in 1972, alongside his brother Tim. Bob was a devoted Nebraska Football Fan and an avid gamer. His game of choice was NCAA football on PlayStation. Bob’s team was always Nebraska, and he played as long as his brain allowed. Bob’s working years were uniquely Bob’s. He was a machinist for many years, working the night shift and playing for the company fastpitch softball team. For six years, he was the best stay-at-home Dad to his 3 children. After being a paraeducator for several years, Bob returned to college to fulfill his childhood dream of becoming an elementary school teacher. He graduated from UNL at the age of 44, and taught for several years. He also coached each of his children in every sport they participated in and was a YMCA fan-favorite referee. Bob was a passionate family man, leading with love by word, action, and deed. He was Lynne’s knight in shining armor, super-dad, and a bonus parent to any child who showed up for a pick-up game of whatever sport was on the docket. Bob was always safety minded, which rightfully earned him the nickname, Safety Patrol. Even under the scourge of dementia, Bob would protect his grandchildren from bodily harm. Of course, Bob’s large family of origin was always essential to his being. Late in the disease process, Bob’s siblings, children, and grandchildren were known by him and were a tremendous comfort to his anxious brain. Bob fought Lewy Body Dementia & Alzheimer’s disease for almost 9 years. He was diagnosed in 2014, 4 months after he & Lynne moved to Colorado for an empty nest adventure. When the Alzheimer’s/Lewy Body Dementia diagnosis came, Bob decided to live to the fullest with the abilities available. He did so with a great attitude, positive outlook, and most importantly, his Bobby sense of humor, which was always worthy of an eye roll. Despite his early departure, rest-assured Bob will continue to make his presence known to the many lives and hearts he touched while he inhabited this earth. Bob is predeceased by his parents Bob & Virginia; brother Tim; brother-in-law John Hiatt and daughter Alicia Crook. He is survived by his wife, Lynne; sisters Colleen (Steve) Emrick, Diana Hiatt, Susie, and brothers Roger and Jon; sons Justin (Jeorgia Fritz), Bradley (Jennifer) Fullerton, son-in-law Jeremiah Crook, daughter outlaw Ashley Jex; his grandchildren Tanner, Isabella, Lucas, Jaden, Jayden, Sylas, and Ophelia; Father and Mother-in-law, Ron and Barb Mortensen, and Father and Mother outlaw, Roger and Shirley Kamprath. Celebration of Life gathering will be held at Antelope Park, (A Street & Capital Pkwy; west to Memorial Dr), in Lincoln, Nebraska on Friday, May 12th, 2023, from 4 PM – 6 PM; video presentation at 5:00 PM, followed by the sharing of memories. Memorials can be sent to the Fullerton family for later donation to dementia research. To leave a condolence please use the form below.
