Guy W. Richter

Guy W Richter was born on January 30, 1931 to Walter and Anita (Wintersteen) Richter in Naponee, Nebraska. His brother, Rodney was born 6 years later. Anita died when Guy was 8. Walter moved with the boys to his parent’s farm and later to Denver, CO during WWII. After the war, they moved back to Naponee where Guy graduated from Naponee High School. Guy went to art school in Omaha with hope of being a cartoonist. He worked as an orderly in a hospital to support himself. After discovering that the reality that it would be very difficult to be a successful cartoonist, Guy decided to work as a professional painter of homes and businesses.

Guy married Joan (Sayer) on February 2, 1958. They eventually settled in Lincoln, Nebraska. Guy started his own business after his boss retired. Guy and Joan are long time members of New Hope United Methodist church. Guy was active in Methodist Men and other committee. He also was there giving is all to the various projects and activities there. Guy was also active in the PDCA (Painting and Decorating Contractors of America). He helped out neighbors, relatives and donated blood.

Guy is survived by his wife of 64 years, Joan. Children; Melody (Brian) Michaud, Troy (Penny) Richter and Cory Richter. 5 grandchildren; Josh (Rebecca Eschenweck) Michaud, Jeff Griffith, Erin (Dan) Kessler, Alice Richter and Maggie Richter. 4 great grandchildren Lyle Eschenweck, Jeffery Eschenweck, Madison Kessler and Jackson Kessler. Brothers; Rodney (Lorene) Richter, Joe (Shirley) Horacek and good friend, Kadar Naik.

Services will be held 10:00 am Wednesday, May 25th, 2022 at New Hope United Methodist Church 45th and Orchard Streets Lincoln, Nebraska.

James L. Brotherson

Born in Guthrie Center, IA on August 18, 1969,  Jim has left us much too soon, but he is now in a better place.  Jim was a good father, son, brother, uncle, and friend. He was raised in Nebraska, graduated from Lincoln Southeast HS and Murray State.  His talents and skills led him to experience several opportunities in his working and private life.

He is survived by his sons Jake Brotherson, and Max Brotherson, Paducah, KY.  He really loved those two boys of his!  Mother Nancy Taylor, Lincoln, NE., brother Mike Brotherson and his wife Charlotte and daughters Carly and Malena, Panama, NE., Grandma Millie Kent, Guthrie Center, IA., step mom Janet Brotherson, and step sister Jenni Re and her husband Ted and son Sebastian and daughter Lexi, step brother Jonathon Durr and his wife Nancy and daughters Lorabelle, Sophia, and Hanah, all from Paducah, KY., many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends  He was preceded in death by his Father Ron Brotherson, Paducah, KY.

Celebration of Jim’s life to be held down the road.
