Maxine H Ball, age 89, a long time Lincoln resident, passed away on October 8, 2018. She was born May 1, 1929, in Bismarck, N.D., to Paul and Helen Krueger. Maxine was married to Merlin A Ball on March 19, 1948, they were married for 57 years. Survivors include her three sisters, her five children: Jack Ball, Roger Ball, Keith Ball, Peggy Forcier, and Diane Anderson, seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Merlin A Ball, her parents and two sisters, Joyce and Dorothy Krueger. A graveside service and interment of ashes will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, November 3, at Fairview Cemetery, 84th and Adams, with memorial celebration following at The Isles reception hall, 63rd and Havelock Ave.

Kathryn Louise Sheridan was born in Milnor, ND on February 16, 1931 to William and Emma Sheridan. Kathy lived in Milnor with her parents and her brothers Bill and Jim and graduated from Milnor High School in 1949. On December 13th, 1949 Kathy married Leslie Bueling of rural Sheldon, ND. Kathy was very busy raising their 5 children in the Sheldon area. Until 1977, when the family moved to Oregon where Les worked in a plywood mill and Kathy did the books at the Astoria Clinic. In 1981, the family moved to Fargo, ND. Kathy and Les started Bueling Monograms in 1981 and did very well with it until their retirement in 1996. Kathy is survived by two brothers, Bill of Lincoln, California, and Jim of Minneapolis, Minnesota, four children, Steve (Susan) Bueling of Denver Colorado, Tom Bueling of Fargo, North Dakota, Laurie Oyos (Brad) of Fargo, North Dakota, and David (Stefani) of Lincoln, Nebraska, 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, husband Les and son Bruce. A short graveside service will be held at the cemetery in Sheldon, North Dakota at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 3rd.

SD (Sterling Duane) Barrett – born February 25, 1925 to Stella (Vaughn) Barrett and Guy Albert Barrett passed in his sleep on August 15, 2018. He is survived by 3 children Deborah Richards, Sheila Kaczmarek, and Patrick Barrett, 4 granddaughters, 1 grandson, 1 step granddaughter, and 1 great granddaughter. He was proceeded in death by his wife Lenora Irene (Cole) Barrett. SD grew up and lived most of his life in Dix NE. After graduating from Dix High School during WWII, he volunteered to join the army in June 1943. He attended boot camp in Colorado and California. After bootcamp he spent a period of time in New York before traveling to England to prepare for landing in France on July 14,1944. Between January 8 & 14, 1945 he was wounded by German artillery fire. In a letter home to his parent’s dated January 20, 1945 he had spent 145 days on the front line with 14 days in combat before being shot (wounded). At the completion of the war in the European theatre he was honorably discharged from the US Army and received the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. He attended Kearney State College before returning to Dix to become postmaster. He married Lenora Irene Cole and they spent their lives together in Dix before moving to Lincoln in their later years to live closer to their son and youngest grandchildren. SD enjoyed cars, hunting, wood work (making sawdust), playing BINGO, watching reality TV, and occasionally would dance to lively music. His long stories and tall tales will be missed by all. Jimmy Lee Barnett, 60, passed away July 12, 2018 in Lincoln Nebraska surrounded by people who loved him. He was born on August 1, 1957 in Crete NE to Bob and Arlene Barnett. Barney was known for his loud contagious laugh, his love for cooking, and entertaining others. He enjoyed bowling in leagues, and fishing. Most of all, Barney loved going on long trips across the country on his motorcycle. He is survived by his daughters Kelley (Tom) Staber , Katie Nungesser , Molly (Joshua) Barnett; four grandchildren Logan, Brody, Clare, and Addie; brother Jerry Barnett; sister Brenda (Dave) Kubicek; Aunt Bonnie Krueger; nieces and nephews Joy, Kaleb, Tyler, Megan, and Landon; and countless friends. Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents Bob and Arlene Barnett, brother Mike Barnett, and son Jimmy (JR) Barnett.
