Myrna Claire Becker
Passed away on June 24, 2020. Myrna Claire Becker (Ross) was born in Rosebud, South Dakota 5-16-1936. She was the daughter of George Ross and Udine Moody. She grew up in Niobrara, spent some time in David City, but most of her life in Lincoln raising 5 boys. She is preceded in death by her husband, parents and her 3 siblings. Survived by sons John R. Novak, David W. Novak, Michael D. Novak, Stephen R. Novak, Douglas J. Novak, Deborah Becker, Jason Becker, and Morgan Johnson along with their spouses; many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Ivan E. Boettner
Ivan Boettner was born in Bennet, Nebraska February 10th, 1931 to Earnest and Bernice (Holland) Boettner and passed quietly into rest May 4, 2020 in Lincoln, Nebraska. Ivan married Doris Jean Nelson on July 28, 1951. They resided in Alvo, Nebraska for 63 years until moving to Lincoln in 2016. Doris and Ivan were blessed with 5 children, 15 grandchildren, and 35 great grandchildren. Ivan cared for and supported them all. A Korean War veteran, Ivan started his civilian career with the Burlington Northern railroad, after which he became the Water Superintendent for Alvo, also working closely with area farmers as a semi driver, tractor driver, mechanic, and general consultant about everything mechanical and some things that weren’t. Holding his military service close to his heart, Ivan participated in an honor flight May 2019 to Washington DC & toured the memorials, especially the Korean Memorial. A true jack of all trades, Ivan was indeed one of a kind. His version of multi-talented experience is rare, and places his memory at the forefront of the thoughts of all who knew him. Ivan is survived by his wife, Doris, daughters Gail (Brad) Swiggart, Deb (Bill) Swanson, Patti Boettner, and Pam (Kim) Poole; grandchildren Kelli (Brent) Cherep, Tara (Nick) Dice, Garrett Swiggart, Heather Wheeldon, Clover (John) Campbell, step grandson-Michael (Kaz) Swanson, Dustin (Liz) Boettner, Jen Lutz, Lindsay Anderson, Jason Hyatt, Chandra (Jesus) Vazquez, Brandon Boettner, Theo (Amy) Poole, Stephanie Poole & Dan Miller & Nat (John Chvatal-Poole) Poole-Chvatal and 35 great-grandchildren. Ivan was preceded in death by parents, a son Douglas, a brother Clyde, a sister Dorothy & her husband Bob Brehm, and a nephew Michael Brehm. Services pending. Linda Kay Butcher
Linda K. Butcher, 59, of Lincoln, passed from this life on April 24, 2020. She was born in Lincoln and was the youngest of three children to Rolland and Dorothy (Flau) Tubman. She earned her bachelor’s degree in horticulture from the University of Nebraska. Linda was employed with Southeast Community College in the financial aid office. Throughout her career, she assisted countless students receive financial aid to attend college. In addition to her commitment to her career, Linda volunteered for numerous organizations, focusing on horticulture and agriculture. She enjoyed traveling, especially to financial aid conferences across the country where she made many friends. Linda was also an active member of Christ United Methodist Church. Linda leaves behind her daughter Jessica Butcher, her son Andrew and his wife Stephanie Butcher, her beloved grandchildren Jack and Natalie, as well as her sister Patricia and brother-in-law Darrell Wissink, and several nieces and nephews, all of Lincoln. She was predeceased by her parents, as well as her brother David and sister-in-law Patricia Tubman. Service in the future.
