Georgia Ann Borcher
Georgia Ann (Bess) Borcher, age 86, of Lincoln, Nebraska, passed away on Tuesday, February 8, 2022. Georgia was born in Nebraska City, Nebraska on May 11, 1935, to Mary Wiegand (Morris) and George Bess. She graduated from Sidney High School in Sidney, Nebraska in 1953. Georgia adored children and spent many years sharing her love of learning as a para-educator in Lincoln Public Schools. She was also passionate about painting and created beautiful artwork for family and friends. An avid traveler her entire life, Georgia adventured near and far, creating wonderful memories with those who loved her. She also was a loyal Nebraska volleyball fan. A sweet and lovely lady, Georgia was affectionally called “Grandma Butterfly” by her grandchildren. She will be fondly remembered for her love of nature and animals. Georgia is survived by her children, Kathy Ayars and Mike (Treva) Borcher; her sister, Nancy (Jim) Snowden; her brother Andy (Nancy) Bess; her grandchildren, Andrew Longoria, Matt Borcher, Stephanie Ayars, Megan Borcher, Gregory Ayars, and Samuel Ayars; and her great-grandchildren, James and Caroline Longoria. Jerry Howard Bainbridge
A Celebration of Life service will be held at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church chapel in Lincoln, NE at 11 am Saturday, February 5th, 2022. A private interment at Fairview cemetery will be held prior to the service. Jerry H. Bainbridge, 80, Lincoln NE, passed peacefully in his sleep Monday, January 24th, 2022 in Lincoln. Jerry was born the 2nd of three sons to George Anthony “Tony” Bainbridge and Marie (Stall) Bainbridge on September 16, 1941 in Lincoln Ne. Jerry graduated Lincoln High School with the class of 1959. Jerry was united in marriage to Charlene Schwieger in Lincoln and of this union four children were born. Debbie, Gary, Steven and Susan. This marriage later ended in divorce. Jerry was a salesman his whole life. He purchased and ran a Sears catalog store in Holdrege from 1969 to 1987 when he sold his Sears store and returned to Lincoln where he continued to sell appliances at Sears for another 32 years for a total of 50 years with the company. He received many awards for being salesman of the month and top salesman during the years with Sears. Jerry loved to volunteer for anything in any organization that he was a member. Jerry was very active in his churches in Holdrege and in Lincoln. Jerry had been a member of the Jaycees, Elks Club, helped organize the Phelps County Centennial, and was a Cub Master for Pack 220. After moving back to Lincoln he volunteered his time as a tutor in math for students at Southeast Community College, delivered Meals on Wheels, volunteered at both St. Elizabeth’s and Bryan hospitals in Lincoln for many years. He held many positions in the churches including being a lay pastor. He participated in several ministry groups and would help lead singles ministry and divorce recovery workshops. He loved playing cards, chess, and square dancing with special friend Jan Kaiser, or shuffleboard with his buddy Merle Faubel. Jerry is survived by his children: daughter Debbie Soderholm and her husband William of rural Holdrege, son Gary Bainbridge of Lincoln, daughter Susan Landenberger and her husband Tracey of Sutton, NE. Brothers, Thomas Bainbridge and his wife Dianne of Papillion, NE, John Bainbridge and his wife Zhenya of Germantown, MD. One grandson Heath Soderholm of rural Holdrege. Two step-grandchildren Trayson & Andaira Landenberger of Sutton, Nephew, Todd Bainbridge of Omaha, Nieces Andrea Bainbridge-Wells and her husband Matt of Tacoma Park, MD and Alexandra Bainbridge-Kissell and her husband Mike of Gaithersburg, MD. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, and son Steven in infancy. Jerry requested no flowers. Donations can be made to his favorite charity St. Jude’s or to the donors choice. “Buzz” Charles McKinley Buswell
Charles McKinley Buswell, 75, died Wednesday January 19, 2022, at home in Lincoln, NE. A celebration of Life, will be held at their home from 1-4 pm, January 29, 2022. 2160 Breckenridge Dr. Phone: 402-499-4469 Charles always wanted to be “burned-urned and spurned”. Charles was born in Hastings, NE, October 14, 1946 to Charles M. Buswell and Helen (Dahlke) Buswell. Charles worked for 30 years as a boiler operator at K Street Plant, meter reader and the last few years as a credit representative with Lincoln Electric System. Charles was married to Jeanne Ann Clampitt, June 17, 1967. They had eloped and was married in Colorado. They loved traveling, and had been to nearly all of the states in the USA. Canoeing, camping with friends and family was a passion. Many canoe trips in the Quetico in Canada with Jeanne and family and friends. Charles had many hobbies over the years. He raised Show Pigeons. He loved Trumpeters and Tumbler Pigeons and took them to shows and fairs. He loved to go hunting with his son Robert and best friend Larry Hettler. His other passion was Model Railroading. He was a member of the Lincoln Area Railway Historical Society and was show chairman, along with Jeanne for many years. He had HO trains to begin with and switched to Lionel 0 Gauge. He always loved helping kids get involved in Model RR and helping widows by appraising their husband trains so no one would take advantage of the widows. He was also a lifetime member of NRA and member of Nebraska-IA RR Association, and Duluth and Missabe Association. Those left to cherish his memory, are his wife Jeanne Ann (Clampitt) Buswell of Lincoln, son Robert of Lincoln, daughters Christine (Buswell) Cook of Lincoln and Shari (Buswell) Pring of Lincoln; 3 grandchildren Brittany, Brandon & Sully, along with 4 Great-Grandchildren; Nevaeh, Avery, Ariah and Rudy Jr. Also, brother Allen Buswell of Colorado, 2-sisters Sue (Kenny) Hostettler, Deb Hopkins and brothers Rick (Jenny) White and Pat White all of Grand Island.
