Rita Fae Eden

Rita Fae Eden, 91, of Lincoln, Nebraska, passed away peacefully on August 29, 2024, surrounded by family. She was born in Gresham, Nebraska, in 1933 to Ethyl (Wilson) and Fae Sack. After graduating from Stromsburg High School, she moved to Lincoln to attend secretarial school. She met her husband Wayne on a blind date, and it was love at first sight.

Rita worked in the counselor’s office at Lincoln Northeast High School for 22 years; prior to this, she was employed at Cushman Motors. Upon retirement, she volunteered at Bright Lights. Rita had a passion for sewing, spending countless hours creating treasured pieces for her loved ones. She had an endless sweet tooth and a gift for baking, her pies the highlight of many family gatherings. She was a lover of any furry friend who would cuddle onto her lap.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Wayne E. Eden, brother Robert ‘Bob’ Sack, and beloved dog Lily.

Family members include three daughters Cindy Kurth, Terri (Randal) Bangert, Lincoln, and Janette Eden-Neal, Portland; Grandchildren Jonathan (Brittany) Travis II, Elizabeth (Austen) Kurth-Hill, Omaha, Madison (Harrison) Whitmarsh, Portland, and Dayne (Trishia) Neal, Air Force; Great grandchildren Oliviya and Lennox Travis, Theodore and Nora Neal, and Callum Hill; Nieces Debbie (Rush) Lewis and Laurie (Rob) Drescher, Chula Vista, and their families.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Knights of Columbus, 6044 South St, Lincoln, NE 68506, on Monday, September 9, 2024. Open house from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials to her family for future designation.

Rita will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by all who knew her.
