Randal Frank Johnson, 70, born October 5, 1955, died peacefully with family by his side on March 13, 2026.

“RJ” was born on October 5th, 1955, the first child of Donna and Clarence Johnson. Randy was a lifelong Lincoln resident. He attended Yankee Hill school, Everett Junior High, and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1973.

Randy completed one year at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. It was then that he told his dad, “I want to drive trains like you, Dad”. He hired on at the Burlington Northern Railroad the following summer and it became his lifelong career. He was mentored by his father who Randy recalls was very hard on him during training but made him a damn good engineer. Through the years at Burlington he made the best friends of his life.

On January 25, 1997, Randy married Carol Bieber. Randy and Carol went on to have two children, Cole Randal and Carly Kathleen Mary. Randy was very proud of Cole and Carly and never tired of speaking of their accomplishments and travels. Carol remained a life-long friend to Randy.

Randy is survived by his son Cole, daughter Carly, friend Carol Johnson, his two sisters  Linda (Ken) Flowerday and Lori (Jay) Spracklen, nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.

Randy is preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents, his dear uncle Frank J. Johnson, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and his loving parents Donna Johnson and Clarence Johnson.

A celebration of life will be held at 3 pm on April 11 at the Holmes Lake Golf Course Clubhouse, 3701 S. 70th St.

    Linda and Lori and Family,
I have a lot a memories of Randy, growing up hanging out in the basement watching SciFi movies plus the Family Reunion. Always went out his way and stopped to say Hello to our Mother and us. Will miss seeing him❤️
