Michael Lee-Jobure Pickett

Michael Lee-Jobure Pickett, lovingly known as “Jobure,” passed away surrounded by the love of his family after a courageous battle with Stage IV colon cancer.
Jobure was a devoted husband to Alexandria Pickett and a loving father to his two children, Khailya and Kiyan, who were the center of his world. He cherished every moment spent with his family and worked hard to create a life filled with love, laughter, and memories despite the challenges he faced throughout his illness.
In October 2025, Jobure was diagnosed with Stage IV colon cancer after what first seemed like a persistent side pain during a charity walk. From that moment on, he faced his diagnosis with strength, determination, and resilience through countless appointments, hospital stays, treatments, and difficult days. Even during his hardest moments, his love for his family never wavered.
Jobure will be remembered for his caring heart, sense of humor, quiet strength, and willingness to help those he loved. He touched the lives of many through his kindness, loyalty, and dedication to family and friends. His presence brought comfort and stability to those around him, and his loss leaves an unimaginable void in the hearts of everyone who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Alexandria; his children, Khailya and Kiyan; his mother, Mrs. Kay T. Pickett; his sister, Mychelle Lee Pickett; his nephew, Síyon-Amir L. Medrano; along with extended family members and loved ones who will continue to honor his memory and carry his love with them always. He was preceded in death by his father, Michael Lee Pickett.
Though his time here was far too short, the memories he created with his family will live on forever. He will be deeply missed, endlessly loved, and never forgotten.
“Those we love don’t go away, they walk beside us every day.”

I am shaken and saddened by this horrific news. I knew Mike, his father, his mother and sister, before Mike was even a teenager. He was always the sweetest, kindest, whole-hearted man!!! I will forever cherish the memories of working alongside of him and even more so, the overabundance of laughter we shared as we made it thru our shifts. (I can still hear/remember his laugh, this very second). I feel totally heartbroken for his children. I know I can’t “fix” or change anything but The Higher Powers that be, know me, my wishes and my Heart. You will never be gone as you will always remain in the Hearts and minds of us whom knew, know and love you!!!
Alex, my condolences to you and your family. Mike was such a sweet and calm person and I enjoyed the opportunities we had to work together. My heart goes out to you for your loss.
As the soft breeze whisper your name, know that Michael is near.
Our Lord has covered Michael, you, Alex and the children with mercy and grace
