Mary Jo Kreiner

Mary Jo (Fredrickson) Kreiner peacefully entered into eternal rest on Monday, December 22, 2025. She was born on September 4, 1951, in Springfield, Minnesota to George and Jean (Haring) Fredrickson.
Mary was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend. She is survived by her daughters, Nicole Chauza of Hickman, Nebraska, and April Kreiner of Lincoln, Nebraska; her cherished grandchildren, Jade and Cole Chauza; her siblings, Judy Brown, Dianne (John) Swertzic, Allen Fredrickson, and Cindy (Mike) Burcham; her dear friends, Mark Chauza and B.A. Fisser; and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends who will always hold her memory close to their hearts.
Mary is preceded in death by her beloved parents, George and Jean Fredrickson; her brother-in-law, Alan (“Brownie”) Brown; her sister-in-law, Marilee Fredrickson; and her aunt, Beverly (“Bev”) Haring.
Mary grew up in Fullerton, Nebraska. She attended Fullerton High School and later graduated from Fairbury High School with the Class of 1970. After graduation, Mary moved to Lincoln, Nebraska. On October 20, 1972, she was united in marriage to Craig Kreiner and they shared 43 years together. Their union was blessed with two daughters. Mary devoted many years of service to the State of Nebraska and eventually retired from the Department of Natural Resources.
Mary enjoyed spending time outdoors, which led her to have quite the green thumb. She filled her days with quilting, sewing, and reading. She also loved coloring, puzzles, card and board games, and various arts and crafts.
