Marla Jo Huber
Marla Jo Huber (Ziegelbein), 66, passed peacefully on November 26, 2024, in Seward, Nebraska, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born on March 18, 1958, in Lincoln, Nebraska, she was the first of two daughters to “Chuck” Charles and Rae Jean (Bornemeier) Ziegelbein. Marla graduated from Lincoln East High School in 1976 and obtained a cosmetology degree at Joseph’s College of Beauty, following her passion for helping others feel beautiful inside and out.
Marla met “Dean” James Huber while on a family vacation in western Nebraska, and they shared many happy years together, raising two children in York, Jamie and “C.J.” Charles Jonathon. Although they divorced in 2009, Marla and Dean maintained a friendship that continued until his passing in 2013.
A woman of faith, Marla embodied kindness, joy, and selflessness. She cherished her role as a mother and grandmother, and her children and grandchildren were her pride and joy. Marla was a social butterfly, lighting up every room with her warm spirit. Marla was deeply loved by all who knew her and will be remembered for her unwavering love, determination, and faith.
Marla is survived by her daughter Jamie (Michael) Wenzl and her son “C.J.” Charles Huber; her sister Marcia (Ray) Kennedy and their children, John, Sarah, Tim, and Adam; and her beloved grandchildren, Avery, and Easton Wenzl. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, and her nephew, Micah Kennedy.
The family requests no flowers. Instead, memorial or tributes can be made to the family for future designation. Arrangements are being overseen by Aspen Cremation & Burial Services in Lincoln, Nebraska. Condolences may be sent to Jamie Wenzl at 611 S. 51st St., Lincoln, NE 68510.
Marla will be greatly missed but will forever remain in the hearts of all who were fortunate to know her.
Memorial Services will be December 6, 2024, 11:00 am at East Hill Church of Christ, 1122 N Delaware Ave, York, NE.
