Condolences for Margaret “Kay” Graber
Most recently Kay was an editor with Bison Books (UNL publishing) years ago. A resident in the Near South for over 35 years and never having a drivers license (by choice) she walked everywhere including to/fro campus. Kay’s story includes an apartment above a rural ALASKA school with her parents and two sisters. Dad & Mom were bath teachers in the one room school house with the family quarters above the school house. Dad was not only a teacher but also made sure the wood for the stove was restocked daily. Travel was by horse in AK. She will be missed by friends and neighbors. She was a lover of cats and Red (her former partners basenji) after Glenn’s passing about 20 years ago. Kay loved to play cards with the neighbors until Covid arrived.
