Leo William Kimminau, 94, of Lincoln, Nebraska passed away Sunday April 29, 2018 at Holmes Lake Manor in Lincoln, Nebraska. Leo was born August 16, 1923, in Cunningham, Kansas. He was the son of the late Joseph and Mary Kimminau.
Leo served in the United States Army and was a combat veteran of the Korean War. He worked in the heating and air conditioning business in Hastings, Nebraska for many years. He was a member of the VFW and the Knights of Columbus. He was a loving husband and a devoted father, grandfather and great grandfather.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Evelyn; their children: Gary Kimminau and his wife Beth of Lincoln, NE, Carolyn Romohr and husband Monte of Gresham, NE, Donald Kimminau of Tampa, FL and Kathy Higgins and husband Jim of O’Fallon, MO; 6 grandchildren: Erica Romohr of Omaha, NE, Philip Romohr of Apex, NC, Tracy Barkmeier of Lincoln, NE, Tara Kimminau of Lincoln, NE, and Lucas and Lauren Higgins of O’Fallon, MO; 3 great-grandchildren: Isabelle, Nathan, and Lizzy Romohr of Apex, NC. He is also survived by his sister, Agnes Britten of Superior, NE, sister-in-law, Velma Hajny of Hastings, and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Bill, Fred, Felix, Edward, and his sisters Cecilia and Mary.
Cremation. No visitation. Services were held Friday, May 4, 2018, at North American Martyrs Catholic Church, 1101 Isaac Drive, Lincoln, NE. Rosary at 10:00 am, Greeting the Family at 10:15 am, Funeral Mass at 11:00 am, and luncheon followed.
