Lee F. Stout

Lee Fayette Stout, son of Herbert H. Stout and Dorothy (Whipple) Stout, passed away April 25, 2026, in Lincoln, Nebraska, at the age of 93.

Born August 17, 1932, Lee graduated from Beeler High School in Beeler, Kansas, in 1950. He spent his life farming and ranching south of Beeler on the Stout family farm where he was born and raised. He served two years on active duty in the United States Army and continued in the Army Reserves for an additional six years, ultimately being discharged with the rank of Specialist Fourth Class (SP4) and receiving the National Defense Service Medal.

Lee married Myra Burdett in Ft. Bliss, Texas, on March 7, 1955. Together they raised five children: Kevin, Kimberly, Kathy, Kendall, and Allison. After more than 66 years of marriage, Myra preceded him in death on May 9, 2021.

Lee was a member of the United Methodist Church and the American Legion. He served many years on the Johnson Township Board and the Watershed District Board.

Lee is survived by his sons, Kevin (Laurie) and Kendall (Kelsey); daughters, Kathy Davis (Leonard) and Allison Belt (Jeff); brother, Ron Stout (Connie); former son-in-law, Craig Huxman; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Myra; daughter, Kimberly Huxman; parents; and sister, Donna Whipple.

There will be no public service. A family inurnment will take place at Buda Cemetery in Ness County at a later date. Memorials are suggested to the Buda Cemetery Fence Fund, c/o Allison Belt, P O Box 15, Rose Hill, KS 67133; or Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, Wichita, KS.
