Joan Katherine Panas

Joan Katherine Panas passed away peacefully on April 21, 2026 at Fallbrook Assisted Living Facility in Lincoln NE. She was surrounded by family and many loving friends in her last days.

Joan was born August 8, 1934 to Frederick (Ted) and Gladys Mae Thompson and was raised on a farm near Dalton, NE. She attended St. Agnes Highschool in Alliance, NE. She married Theodore (Ted) Panas June 13, 1953 and they were married for 67 years.

She is preceded in death by her husband Ted, mother and father, mother-in-law and father-in-law, sister and brother-in-law, sister-in-law and brother-in-law.

She is survived by her six children; Debbie (Larry) Pederson, Diane, Denise, Doreen (Monte) Myers, Ted (Lisa) and Deneile; 10 grandchildren; Christopher (Katy), Emily (Steven), Kiel, Rosanne (Riley), Rebecca, Kristina (Christopher), Nicholas (Devan), Tabitha, Kendall and Constantine; brother (Neal) and half sisters (Carolyn, Pat and Pam) and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

As per Joan’s wishes, there will be a private immediate family only service at a later date. Memorials can be made to the Dalton Volunteer Fire Department or St Mary’s Catholic Church in Dalton NE.
