Janice “Jan” Rae Brockmeyer

Janice “Jan” Rae (Erickson) Brockmeyer passed away on July 15, 2026, at the age of eighty-nine, in Fairbury, Nebraska. She passed peacefully and is now reunited with Bob, the love of her life.
Jan was the daughter of Delmer and Maxine (Stull) Erickson, born on May 23, 1937, in Fairbury, Nebraska. She graduated from Perkins County High School in 1955. She then attended Southeast Commnity College in Fairbury. She married Robert “Bob” Brockmeyer in 1957. Together, Jan and Bob welcomed two children, Lori Lyn in 1962, and Robert Carl in 1965. Jan and Bob were blessed with four grandchildren. Her grandchildren adored their “Grandma Jan.”
Jan will be remembered for the love she showed her children and grandchildren. Her great-grandchildren brought her much joy. She enjoyed attending their sporting events and school programs. Jan had a kind and loving heart. She enjoyed listening to books on tape, “The Friends of the Fifties” gatherings, and visiting with family and friends.
Jan worked for a time at the Lynch Clinic and the Fairbury Hospital. She also worked at Fairbury Pipe and Supply for many years. In 1986 they moved to Lincoln, Nebraska where she worked for Pro-Tint and Pro Marketing. She and Bob moved back home to Fairbury in 2019. Jan was a member of the First Christian Church in Fairbury for 68 years where she dedicated herself to serving her church family.
Jan is survived by her daughter Lori (Ron) Martin of Fort Wayne, Indiana and her son Robert (Lori) of Daykin, Nebraska; her four grandchildren, Eireson (Adam), Jaci (Josh), James (Sam), and Andrew; her four great-grandchildren, Kaden, Emelia, Maddyx, and soon to be baby boy Minge; step grand-children Katie (Dave), Kyle (Becky), Kelli (Andy), and two step great-grandchildren Grace and Addisyn, sister Linda Robinson; half-brother Scott (Sue) Erickson; step-brothers Russ and Ron; stepsisters Glenda and Gloria(Jim) and several family members and friends.
Jan was preceded in death by her husband, Bob; her parents, Delmer, and Maxine; sister, Merlene; stepsister, Linda Kay; and half-sister, Joni.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, August 29 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Christian Church in Fairbury, Nebraska. Family will be greeting friends starting at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to First Christian Church, Fairbury or Cottonwood Hospice, Beatrice.
