Gilberto “Gil” Ceballos

featured image

Gilberto (Gil) Ceballos was born in Mexico, but came to United States as a young man of twenty one. He started working for his Uncle, who had a small grocery store in Lincoln, Nebraska.

After becoming a U S Citizen he met and married Claudine Emry, who had two children from a previous marriage. He started working as a Machinist with Burlington Northern Railroad until he retired.

Most people who knew him, knew him as the guy who Ring Stewarded ALL the Horse Shows, from Oklahoma to Nebraska and everywhere in between.

He and his family were long time members, of the Capital City Horse Club, Nebraska Pinto Horse Association, Nebraska Paint Horse Association and both of the National Associations.

He is survived by his daughter Kris Jeffries, his son Michael Jeffries, and Grandchildren Dallas Wenz, Mikey Joe Jeffries, and Elisha Nettleson. All of whom will miss him very much.

Such a sad day. Gil was a class act! He was the sweetest man always. Got to share many arenas with him capturing photos of the many shows he was the Ring Steward for. Enjoyed meeting all the family at the family cabin during the state Fair in Lincoln. Condolences to all the family for such a loss of a great man always fondly remembered.
