Her family lived in Pingree, ND, and then moved to Chadron, NE, where her father pastored a church. She attended school in Chadron and graduated from the Preparatory High School in 1947. She and Jim retired to Juniata in the home where she lived until Jan. 2020.

    Dear Eckblade Family,
Jocie notified yesterday me of your Mother’s passing. I am so sorry to hear this. What a wonderful friend she was to my Mom (especially,) Dad and all of the Toons. I remember as a very special friend of the family going way back to the old Congregational Church days when she and your Dad would come over for coffee after church. Your Mom was an amazing person, good through and through, and I know you will miss her terribly. My deepest condolences to all of you at this sad and difficult time.
    With love,
    Marcy
