Connie Elaine (Oltmans) Lanham

Connie Lanham was born November 22, 1946 on the family farm north of Nelson, Nebraska to Marvin and Elaine (Klawitter) Oltmans. Growing up on the farm, Connie enjoyed participating in 4-H and visiting her grandfather at the county jail house. In high school, Connie was involved in many activities including being selected the Honored Queen of Job’s Daughters, Bethel 66 of Superior.
Connie married Alan Lee Lanham on July 27, 1967. They had three sons Troy, Todd and Tim.
Connie received her Bachelor’s degree in Special Education in 1979 from Kearney State College and later her Master’s degree in Counseling from the University of Nebraska – Kearney. Connie then started teaching at Litchfield Public Schools before transferring to Loup City Public Schools in 1990. Connie remained at Loup City until retiring in 2009.
Connie has three younger brothers Scott, Craig and James (JIm).
Survivors include sons, Troy (Dawn) Lanham of Omaha and Todd (Amy) Lanham of Lincoln, five grandchildren, Zach and Davis of Omaha, Molly, Allyson and Ben of Lincoln, three brothers, Scott Oltmans of Nelson, Craig (Lana) Oltmans of Kearney and Jim (Terri) Oltmans of rural Nelson, one sister-in-law, Marcia Drudik, two brothers-in-law, Mike (Sharon) Lanham of Oxford, Kenny (Tierza) Lanham of Sioux Falls, SD.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alan, her son Tim, parents, and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Earl and Pat Lanham.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, August 29 at 1:30 pm in the Nelson Community Center. Afterwards, please stay and share your stories with family and friends. Desserts and drinks will be provided.
Memorials can be made to the Ravenna City Library or the Nelson Public Library.
Private family interment will be at a later date.
