Christopher G. Foreman

Chris Foreman was born on January 17, 1948, in Springfield, Missouri, to Arthur “Jim” Foreman and Marjorie (Greider) Foreman. When he was a young child, the family moved to David City, Nebraska, where Chris was raised. He was the oldest of six children, welcoming five younger siblings into the Foreman family over the years. Chris passed away on June 16, 2026, at the age of 78.
Chris was a remarkable man whose presence filled every room with warmth, laughter, and kindness. Music was one of his greatest passions, becoming woven into the fabric of his life from an early age. His talent, determination, and intellect were evident as he graduated as valedictorian of David City High School’s Class of 1966. Yet beyond his accomplishments, it was his generous heart, gentle spirit, and genuine kindness that defined him.
Chris began his professional audio career in the 1960s while earning his degree in electrical engineering from the University of Nebraska. During that time, he played tenor saxophone in a Motown band, combining his love of music with his technical talents.
As a young musician, Chris was a member of the rock ‘n’ roll band, The Chancellors. The Chancellors won the Omaha Midwest Battle of the Bands, earning a recording contract with Liberty Records in 1967. Chris embraced the excitement and unforgettable experiences of those early years, creating memories that would stay with him for a lifetime.
In the early 1970s, Chris joined Stanal Sound as a Senior Engineer, where he became a pioneer in concert sound touring. During his career, he worked with renowned artists including John Denver, The Supremes, Neil Diamond, Johnny Cash, and many others. Throughout the years, he designed and installed professional audio systems for churches, schools, manufacturing facilities, and countless other venues, leaving a lasting impact on the professional audio industry.
Chris was a member of the Lincoln Berean Church, where his faith and caring spirit reflected the same kindness and generosity he shared with everyone who knew him.
His passion for music never faded. It became the foundation of a lifelong career in professional audio, allowing him to share his talents while enriching the experiences of countless people through the power of music and sound.
In 1997, The Chancellors were inducted into the Nebraska Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, a fitting recognition of their contributions to Nebraska’s music history.
To those who knew him, Chris was far more than his accomplishments. He was a devoted husband, a loving stepfather, a proud grandfather, a cherished brother, a treasured friend, and someone who made everyone around him feel welcomed and valued. He possessed a quiet strength, a wonderful sense of humor, and a unique ability to make ordinary moments feel extraordinary.
Although our hearts are broken by his passing, we are deeply grateful for every memory, every song, every laugh, and every moment shared with him. His love and spirit will remain with us always, echoing like the music he cherished throughout his life. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Chris is survived by his beloved wife, Lynnelle, with whom he shared nearly 41 years of marriage; his stepdaughter, Anissa (Scott) Rasmussen of Lincoln; his stepson, Mike Klippert of Whitefish, Montana; his grandson, Tyler Rasmussen of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; his brothers, Jon (Jennifer) Foreman and Brian Foreman, both of Lincoln; his sister, Jill Foreman of Santa Ana, California; and his three nephews, Graydon, Andrew, and Brent.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Marjorie Foreman; his sister, Theresa; and his brother, Matt.
