Chad Aaron Pape was born in Falls City, Nebraska, to John and Jan Pape on 7/18/67.  The family moved to Wallace, Nebraska, where Chad graduated from Wallace High School in 1986.

After graduation from high school, Chad moved back to Falls City, where he worked various jobs at Farm & City Supply, Stalder Cattle Company, and Sailors Building Supply.  He obtained his Custom Applicator’s license when he worked at the Farmer’s Co-Op in Verdon, Nebraska.  From there, he went on to work at Sur-Gro in Falls City.

In 2001 he married Lisa Leeper in the Stella Community Church. They lived in Stella, Nebraska, and then moved to Falls City; where they both worked. In 2003, Chad and Lisa moved to Seneca, South Carolina, where Chad worked as a motorcycle mechanic at Suzuki of Seneca.  He eventually opened his own shop at their house in Seneca.

In 2010, Chad and Lisa moved to Plattsmouth, Nebraska, to be closer to his parents.  He worked as a farm hand until complications from Diabetes forced him to retire early from farming.

Chad had to have his left foot amputated below the knee in July of 2025.  At the time of his passing, he was a resident of Emerald Lancaster Nursing Home and Rehabilitation.  He died unexpectedly in his sleep on June 2, 2026.

Chad was preceded in death by his father, John Pape, and his grandmother, Betty Pape.  He leaves behind his wife of 24 years, Lisa; his mother, Jan, and one brother, Cory.  Numerous nieces and nephews (Joe Pape, Chaz Pape, Macy Pape, Travis (Danielle) Leeper, and Tiffany (Leeper) Marks), and many friends scattered all over the country.

No formal funeral service is planned.  A Celebration of Life Open House will be held at Aspen Cremation & Burial Services, 4822 Cleveland Avenue, Lincoln, NE on Monday, June 8th from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Chad’s memory to the American Diabetes Association.

    Dear Pape Family,

I am so sorry for the loss of Chad. There are no words that can truly express how heartbroken I am. Chad was more than my best friend—he was family to me.

I will always be grateful for the memories we shared, the laughter, the conversations, and the friendship that meant so much to my life. Chad had a way of making people feel valued, and his presence brought comfort and joy to those around him.

While my heart aches at his passing, I find comfort in knowing how deeply he was loved by his family and friends. The impact he made on so many lives will never be forgotten.

Please know that my thoughts, prayers, and deepest sympathies are with you during this difficult time. I am keeping all of you close in my heart and will always cherish the gift of having known Chad.

    With love and deepest sympathy,

    Michelle Hudson
