Betty Lou Doeschot DeLeeuw
Betty DeLeeuw of Naples, FL passed away on August 31, 2026 in Lincoln, NE. She had just celebrated her 85th birthday on August 26th.
Born August 26, 1941 to William “Bill” & Angeline (Kroese) Doeschot, she grew up on the family farm located in Firth, Nebraska. She attended Panama High School and graduated in 1958.
She was a star high school volleyball player and later in life found herself on many local golf courses. She also enjoyed playing pickleball with her grandkids and was known to ace them with her serving many times.
She worked at Goodyear for 30 years and retired in 1998.
On January 6, 1996 she married Joseph DeLeeuw in Ventura, CA. They spent time traveling all over the country and finally retired in Naples, FL in 2003. They enjoyed their special community and have many friends from all over the country there. From playing softball, pickleball, visiting the Florida Keys and the daily socials on their back patio, she will be remembered as the person who loved to laugh and always had a positive view on life.
She is survived by her husband Joseph DeLeeuw, her only daughter, Traci (Herman) Mihm of Dallas, TX, son in law Todd Mihm, grandchildren Claire Mihm, Catherine Mihm, Todd CL Mihm, Tanner Herman and Logan Herman; step son Joey J. DeLeeuw. Siblings Shirley Anne Boettcher and brother in law Bill Boettcher, Arleen Stubblefield, William Doeschot Jr. and sister in law Alice.
She was preceded in death by her parents and son, Timothy John Herman, daughter in law Kristi (DeLeeuw) Herman, her brother and sister in law, Owen & Eveyln Doeschot, brother Robert “Bobby” Doeschot, sister and brother in law Jane (Doeschot) Mundt & Vick Mundt and brother in law Charles Stubblefield.
A Celebration of Life will be held in October with details to follow.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the family for future designation to Aspen Cremation Service; 4822 Cleveland Avenue, Lincoln, NE 68504, in care of the DeLeeuw family.

I will always remember Joe and Bettie’s golf cart visits at the places I was working in the Waves. I am so happy I was able to give Betty a hug before they went to Lincoln. Joe and Betty loved hosting happy hours. Betty will be missed.

Betty was a wonderful aunt. She always opened her home to family and friends for events and celebrations. I also have fond memories of our annual family reunions to Lake McConaughy where we fished, waterskied, swam and had amazing food!!!
We also took a few ski trips that were lots of fun. I’m blessed to have had such an incredible aunt. May you rest in peace aunt Betty!!
