Jon Dean Eslick
On Saturday, January 2nd 2021, Jon Eslick, loving husband and father of four children passed away at the age of 54 after a brief but hard fought battle with liver cancer.
Jon was born on April 12, 1966 in Lakewood, CA. to David and Estella (Cruz) Eslick. Jon spent his entire career serving others in the medical field mainly supplying medical equipment and supplies to countless clients for 35 years until he landed his dream job just two years ago serving as the Marketing Director at Fallbrook Assisted Living. Building relationships with the residents and their families brought him so much joy. On December 18th, 1993 he married Lara Sue Luetchens and together they raised one daughter, Brianna, and three sons, Hayden, Mitchell, and Brandon.
Jon was a big guy with a big personality. He was the heart of his neighborhood and often the first person to welcome new families. He was always ready to lend a helping hand, but often told people he wasn’t a “Real Mexican” because he was not good at manual labor. He was a master at the barbecue and his perfectly grilled chicken and steaks will be missed. His pickled eggs…not so much, at least not by his wife. When people would visit our house he would tell them you are only a guest twice, after that get it yourself. He taught his kids to take pride in their work, and that early is on time, on time is late, and late is unacceptable. He loved fire pit Fridays, Bachelor Mondays and Hallmark Christmas movies all year long.
Jon is survived by his wife Lara, his four children Brianna, Hayden, Mitchell and Brandon as well as his future daughter in law Skyla Klug, his parents David and Estella Eslick, his brother Jim and his wife Caren and their son Tyler; his brother Tom and his wife Christina and their daughter Alyssa.
A memorial service will be held at a time when it is safe for his many, many friends and family to come together to celebrate his life and share the stories that would call out his ready laugh.

Jon is one of the most amazing souls I have ever met. My parents, former residents of Fallbrook, adored him. Even with the memory loss my parents endured, they always knew Jon was there to give them a hand, a lift, or a laugh. Our entire family will always be grateful to Jon for helping to make our parent’s last days awesome! Our prayers are with Jon’s staff and family; Jon is greatly missed by many.
Jon was a very kind, genuine, dependable man who did his job well …. I knew Jon through business with Fallbrook. He was always so kind to me, I really appreciated him when I would work there. Some people just make an impression, Jon definitely did that.
I’m deeply sorry for your loss. The few times he came into McDonald’s, he was so kind. This family didn’t deserve this but their close bond will get them through this. My condolences to this amazing family.
I am sure you don’t know me. I am your father’s (Mel) cousin. I am sorry about your loss. He was too young.

Jon, You were like a brother to me growing up. Often getting ourselves in trouble but having a blast. You and your family mean the world to me, despite living so far apart these last years. I was looking forward to you more when we move this year to the Midwest. I will never forget you, the laughter and fun. Rest well my “cuz”. Until we meet again!!
Lara and family…. thoughts and prayers to y’all. If anyone needs anything, please let me know. Prayers and hugs!!

My Sincerest condolences in the loss of Jon. The wonderful description of him is exactly how I knew him as a young boy, he could brighten a room!
Jon was the heart of many Campus Life/YFC bike trips. He was our cook and did a great job, but he was so much more. He welcomed every rider to every meal and break as if that rider was the king/queen of the pack. Jon was all heart with a wicked sense of humor. May he Rest In Peace in the arms of our Lord and may his family have peace knowing that Jon’s spirit of love lives.
Jon and I worked together for many years and he was absolutely always a bright spot! I will miss him and my heart goes out to all family and friends.
I was blessed to know and work with Jon through Campus Life and Ultimate Home Care. I am so sorry to hear he lost his battle with cancer. Jon and I worked side by side telling high school students about Jesus Christ for many years and I’ve been reliving all of those great memories, especially the bike trips and winter retreats. Jon has always been a great cook and I think together we must have made thousands of meals for all of those high schoolers. Jon, you will be missed but never forgotten. Thank you for letting me be a small part of your life.
I am so sorry to hear of Jon’s passing. I knew him through MJ Senior Housing. What a wonderfully kind man he was. Praying for comfort & peace to cover you all during this heartbreaking time.
Jon was the best part of campus life back in the day. He was always positive and fun to be around. He was a Bright star in the world and will be missed. Sending many prayers 🙏 of peace to your family.
