Condolences for LaVerne J. Bish (Turner)
Our thoughts and prayers are with the family. La Verne, is and was a beautiful person. She and Cyril took me and my husband in their home and when our son Garret was born she spoiled him dearly. She will be missed. Truly a lovely person who we will remember always.
I am very saddened to hear of Mrs. Bish’s passing. She was a wonderful person and a joy to be around. We will miss her immensely at Hillcrest Country Club and 50/50 Bridge Club. Rest in peace Mrs. Bish.
I just met LaVerne two weeks ago when we sat together at the Westminster Church “Ladies Night Out” at Mi Tierra restaurant. We had a wonderful couple of hours of fellowship. I really enjoyed visiting with her. What a blessing it was for me to meet her. She will be missed.

So sorry to hear of Laverne passing. Ron and I visited her at Bryan East the afternoon before Thanksgiving. She visited and was as clever as ever. She looked fragile but certainly knew who we were. Unfortunately Ron suffers a stroke last Sunday and has been transferred to Bryan West tied floor rehab to gain back the full use of his legs. We will not be at Laverne funeral but she is in our hearts as we recall how much she cared for others in need. Bless you all .

We were very sad to hear about LaVerne. She was a long time client of ours and will be missed dearly.
i just learned of Mrs. Bish’s death. She was a great lady and wonderful Director of Nursing. I learned so much, caring for the elderly under her direction. She was a special person to me and will be deeply missed by all. My deepest sympathy to her family.
It is truly a small world. I worked for your mother/grandmother 47 years ago.
Someone that I grew up with, and since have lost track of, just recently wrote to me after 20 years and sent me your mother’s death notice.
Working for Mrs Bish was my first job after high school. I always wanted to be a nurse and your mother instilled in me some pretty high standards for nursing care.
I had no idea that she was prior military. It makes sense to me now! Now after my career in the military and nursing.
I believe nursing is a calling, not a job. I have been blessed with working with some wonderful nurses. It is a hard, thankless job. Not everyone does it well
Your Mom was a wondrful nurse. She did it well! That is the highest compliment I can give anyone.
My condolences on your loss.
Dear Musa and Sara, You probably remember that your mother and mine were close friends when you were little, even though she was nearly 20 years younger than my mom. She may have been the most admired of all my mother’s acquaintances. When my mother became ill, Laverne took charge. Mother depended on her until her untimely death at age 58–and then she and your dad befriended my heartbroken father for a long time. I still think of you girls…I live in Clermont, Florida on a hillside overlooking Lake Minnehaha. just west of Orlando. Would love to hear from you or have you come by if you’re ever in Florida.
