Born September 29, 1981 in Belleville, IL to loving parents Terry and Mary Loehring. He graduated from Belleville East High School and then went on to University of Central Missouri where he received both a Bachelor’s, and a Master’s degree. After meeting in graduate school, he married Adrien (Wright) Loehring on June 21, 2007 in Denver, CO. Mike worked at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in the College of Engineering and was an avid supporter of higher education and access to education. Mike loved to bowl, and shared that passion with his many teammates throughout the years, his team at Central Missouri and then as a coach at Washington State University. He also loved to play golf, drink microbrews, but most of all he loved to spend time with his wife and children. He was a St. Louis Cardinals fan and loved to listen to the games on the radio while watching his girls play outside.
Mike is survived by his spouse Adrien (Wright) Loehring, three daughters: McKenna, Parker, and Sidney, mother Mary (Brenner) Loehring, sisters and brother-in-laws Kayla & Ken Rosenberg, Angie & Dennis Schmitt. You have my most heartfelt condolences. I was truly blessed and honored to have known Mike and be a part of his life. Mike was larger than life itself. He was humble, kind and caring. He was a true beacon of light for those people who are lost. Rest in his love for you and your family. Mike was one of the most charismatic and loving individuals I’ve ever had the honor to meet. Our thoughts and prayers to his family. Mike bowled on the Pullman Moose team for a while and it was a pleasure getting to know him.
Adrien, Although I never had the privilege of meeting your Mike; I feel like, through Facebook, that I grew to know and appreciate what an amazing man, father and husband he was. I am deeply saddened by your tremendous loss. God must have needed another strong Angel and chose Mike. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you and your beautiful baby girls. May God lay His healing hands upon your broken heart. Love in our KD,
Adrien and family,
I would like to extend my deepest sympathies to you and the girls at the loss of loss of husband and father. I was close to Michael as his supervisor in Texas at Angelo State and his colleague here in Omaha where we visited several times a year.
Michael was an outstanding young professional, and I am so proud of the work he did in developing and expanding student services and enrollment for the college of engineering at the University of Nebraska.
As you well know, Mike had great passion for his work, for his church, but especially his family. Also being a father of three daughters, I held a special kinship with him in that regard.
Since I will be out of state on the 20th, I will be unable to participate in the ceremony, but I will call on you later on with a special gift for the girls.
God’s Blessings

Adrien and family, Words cannot express how sorry I am for your loss. Mike was a great man and I will truly miss him. Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.
It’s been years since I’ve seen Mike’s smiling face in person but I’ve kept up with him via social media and his Caring Bridge site. Even when we were young naive college kids, Mike was one of the kindest, most caring, and generous people I’d ever met. Reading the notes from his loved ones and friends tells me that he was that to everyone, always. The world lost a truly special soul. Sending his family and loved ones my deepest sympathies.
My heart is broken for you Adrien, your sweet girls & your family! I can’t imagine how painful this is! We love your entire family & will be here for you always! Love & hugs friends!! ❤️🤗🙏🏻
Wishing you and your family healing thoughts and prayers. Mike was such an inspiring force as an educator, mentor, administrator, father, husband, friend, family member, community member, and a wonderful presence to all who knew him/ rest in peace dear friend.
Adrian, Beth saw this and sent it to me. I am so sorry for your loss. Know that Beth and I are praying for you and the girls.
