“Chuck” Charles R. Dreesen
Charles “Chuck” Richard Dreesen
September 2, 1944 – July 26, 2022
Chuck was born to Gertrude and Arthur Dreesen in Norfolk, Nebraska . He is survived by his wife Janet, brother Bob Dreesen (Janelle), nephews Scott Dreesen , daughter, Cami Evans, brother-in-law Ronald Volyes, and nephews Aaron and Mike Voyles. He was preceded in death by father Arthur, twin sister Charlote “Sue” Volyes and Mother Gertrude (Fuhrmann) Dreesen.
Chuck’s major was in the printing trade, owning his own business in Norfolk and later as supervisor of the University of Nebraska printing department.
He had many interests, among them woodworking, music, animals (especially dogs) and gave many volunteer hours to a local pet rescue group and to his church.
Great pride was taken in his yard, his automobiles, and his collection of model Classic Cars.
He made friends easily and would drop everything to help someone in need. There were many serious and painful health issues which he faced with grace and optimism. His smile, his good – humored approach to life, his commitment to God and his religion defined him and will remain in our hearts.
There is a new star lighting up the night sky since he left us. He is reunited with his loved ones, singing in his bass voice, and joking with the angels., Rest well dear Chuck. You are loved always!

Condolences for “Chuck” Charles R. Dreesen
I am saddened to learn of Chuck’s passing, but know he suffered a lot. What a good man he was. And his twin sister Sue was my best high school friend. Chuck was so kind to my brother before his death. I’ll never forget the Dreesen family. My love & sympathy to all of Chuck’s family.
A friend from early school days many years ago. Our families were close but we lost touch as the years went on. Sorry for the loss to Chuck’s family.
Janet, I was so saddened by the news of Chuck. I thought so much of him and you. Always loved talking with him, his jokes he told or would send.,I know he fought hard and never complained just accepted it. I’m thankful he is no longer in pain. But he will truly be missed! I left you a text, just know I’m here.
Beautifully and well stated. We are so thankful to have had Chuck in our lives. 🙏🏽💓
I too, was taken back when I saw Chuck had passed. He was my supervisor at Pure Water, clear back in the early 80’s. He was a skilled pressman, and was a very wonderful boss. He was a great leader, mentor and deeply cared for our print shop staff.
He helped me grow as a person and always willing to help anyone out.
I loved his immaculate well cared for Chevy Blazer. Once he pulled me out of the parking lot snow and I was so scared I wouldn’t hit the brake fast enough when he pulled me out. I didn’t want to be the one who put a dent in that SUV!
He went on to UNL and we periodically stayed in touch. I had heard his health was really a serious situation but I heard that Janet took excellent care of him which gave me great comfort.
Janet, I never had a chance to meet you but your dear brother in-law Bob told me that you were the best, most kind person who took lovingly care of Chuck.
My heart hurts right now. I want to express my deepest condolences to everyone in Chuck’s life. I am really sorry for your loss – he was so very special and kind.
I feel blessed that I had the privilege of knowing him and working beside him.
With love and tears,
Lisa Vosta
Chuck was the most genuine man I have ever known. He truly was a class act and a dear friend. I miss him very much.
Janet, you are in our prayers.
