Our Standards
Cremation can be a difficult decision for some. We understand that. We put these ten steps together to detail our process and commitment to serving you well. Know that from your initial contact with us, our staff remains fully engaged in the care of your loved one and the survivors. Our crematory is in our funeral home. Our staff is licensed and trained to handle cremation with the utmost dignity.
- YOUR LOVED ONE NEVER LEAVES OUR CARE
At Aspen Cremation Service, your loved one remains under our professional care and supervision at all times. We have our own on-site crematory managed by our own trained and certified staff. This assures your loved never leaves our care and is not transported to a third party crematory used by many other funeral homes. - PERSONAL IDENTIFICATION SECURITY
To ensure personal identification and security, an I.D. badge is placed on your loved one at the moment they are transferred to our care. - SECURE HOLDING FACILITY
Upon arrival, your loved one is identified with a name and I.D. badge and placed into a secure refrigeration unit. - TRACKING SYSTEM
Following arrival, your loved one is entered into our tracking system and assigned an identification number. This number is used to track every step of the cremation process. - VERIFICATION TO ENSURE CORRECT PAPERWORK
Before cremation, a funeral home manager and cremation technician will review all cremation paperwork and permits. This is to ensure that authorizations and permits have been received and documented properly. - CREMATION LOG-IN PROCESS
Prior to cremation, your loved one’s personal identification is noted in our cremation log book. This log shows the name of the individual, identification number, date and time of the cremation. The log is dated and initialed by the cremation technician before and after the cremation. - CREMATORY DATA IDENTIFICATION
Immediately prior to cremation, your loved one’s personal identification is entered into the crematory database system. This system is attached directly to the cremation chamber and allows for a permanent record to be kept of your loved one’s name, issued identification number, time and date of cremation. - DURING THE CREMATION
The crematory log information, identification badge, and stainless steel identification tag are placed on the outside of the cremation chamber during the cremation process. - FOLLOWING THE CREMATION
When the cremation is complete, the cremated remains or ”Cremains” are placed with the stainless steel identification tag into a plastic cremains container or the urn selected by your family. - RETURN OF THE CREMAINS
Our staff will notify you to schedule a time for picking up the cremains. Unless otherwise arranged, the cremains will be released only to the person who has been authorized on the cremation authorization form signed prior to the cremation process. If an alternative is designated, the receiving party must show proper I.D. and sign a receipt form for the cremains.
