Robert Goodman

Robert (Bob) Goodman, age 86, of Lincoln passed away on August 17, 2022. Bob was born December 17, 1935 to Lovell and Lucille Goodman.

Bob is survived by his loving wife of 65 years Margaret; 4 children; Cheryl (Beckie) Goodman, Diana (Bryan) Desh; Alan (Vickie) Goodman, Tricia Goodman. Siblings, Richard (Helen) Goodman, Marlene (Joe) Pearson, LeRoy (Diana) Goodman; grandchildren, Dena (Ryan), Devan (Maggie), Bret (Alyssa) Samantha (Jesse), Meagan (Peter), Dakota (Erika), Jeremy (Tess), Seth, Tyler, Grace and 5 great-grandchildren (George, Peter, Theo, Everly and Oliver); many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Celebration of life will be 11:30am Tuesday, August 30, 2022 at WSI Hall(upstairs) in Lincoln, NE.

Memorials to the family to be designated at a later date.

Mark E. Szuchmanski

Mark E. Szuchmanski, age 59, was born in Erie, Pennsylvania on October 23, 1962, to Edward and Joan Szuchmanski. He graduated from Cathedral Prep in 1981 in Erie, PA and attended Penn State Behrend in 1983. He enjoyed a childhood filled with humor and love. He worked for Parker Hannifin Corp as a Machinist for 23 years. Mark grew up on the shores of Lake Erie where he developed a life-long passion for fly-fishing. He was also a talented musician, playing in bands in school and “on tour” in the Erie area. He loved animals and took great joy in having many pets.

On August 16th, 2022, Mark passed away after a prolonged illness. He was preceded in death by his lovely parents, Joan Rawa Szuchmanski and Edward Szuchmanski as well has his eldest sister, Cynthia Szuchmanski Ott Drake Sage. Mark is survived by his devoted sisters, Becky Norton, Mary Estrada, Laurie Szuchmanski and Julia Hahn along with numerous nieces and nephews. Mark’s family is stricken with pain and grief from this loss. However, they are comforted by the knowledge that Mark is now in the care of the Lord. He will be dearly missed until the time we can all meet again.

A celebration of life will be held privately on October 22nd in Westwood, Massachusetts with his family.

Samuel Wade Thornton

Samuel Wade Thornton was born August 4th 1967 to Larry and Janice in Union City, TN. Sam passed away at Bryan East Campus Hospital, Lincoln, NE, on August 9th, 2022. Sam lived in many places though out his life, as his mother and Step-Father (Bob Corlew) were Government Services Employees. Sam graduated from Lansing High School in Lansing, KS. After Graduation he enlisted in the Army and got stationed in Germany, where he met his partner in crime and future Wife.

On January 28, 1989, Sam married Bridget Joseph of Valentine, NE. Sam and Bridget raised their two children in Germany, Valentine and Lincoln, NE.

Sam enjoyed fishing, NASCAR, the Huskers, Playing guitars with his Bro-friends as well as many impromptu games of cribbage in his Man-Cave! He loved spending time in his Hot Tub with his grandchildren, who he LOVED with all of his heart.

Sam is survived by his best friend and wife of 36 years, Bridget, of Lincoln; Mother, Janice Corlew (Bob) of Huntsville, AL; daughter Kara (Thornton) Cage (Frederick) of Panama City, FL; daughter, Chelsey Thornton (Tre’Kuic Engnell Sr); Malek Riek (Teresa); grandchildren, Nyakuoth Riek, Emmanuel Riek, Cecelia Riek, Goaner Riek, Tre’Kuic Engnell Jr, TaShaun Engnell all of Lincoln. His Aunt Joan, Uncle Fred and cousins Debbie (Marc) and Natalie (Gregg); Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and many many friends.

Funeral Service will be held on September 1st, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the Ebenezer Congregational Church; 801 B Street, Lincoln NE.

In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Family or to Live On Nebraska or to Wounded Warriors Veterans Charity – Non Profit Organization for Veterans I WWP.
