Douglas E. Stroman
Doug was born on June 3, 1950, in David City, Nebraska to Ralph and Elzada Stroman. Doug passed away peacefully on May 12, 2023, at home with family by his side. Doug was raised on the Stroman Farm in Ulysses, Nebraska. Doug attended Ulysses Grade School. Then in 1966, the family moved to Leigh, Nebraska where Doug graduated from Stanton High School in 1968. Doug enlisted in the Navy (August 1969- August 1975) stationed in Guam as a Radioman. Doug married Melba Banez and continued to live in Guam, raising his two sons, Jeremiah, and Joshua until 1983. After divorcing from Melba, he returned to Nebraska with his two boys and remained in Nebraska. Doug married Suzanne (Magee) Stroman in 1992. They lived in Lincoln, Nebraska where Doug worked as both a flooring and antique salesman. Doug had a deep passion for family, friends, Jesus, music, and antiques. Some of Doug’s favorites were Pink Floyd and John Deere. Survived by his Wife: Suzanne (Susie), Son: Jeremiah Stroman (Bobbi), Stepsons: Nate (Anita) Moore, and Justin Moore. Grandchildren: Brittany Closson (Christopher), Alexandra Stroman, Jacob Stroman, Harper Moore, Quinn Moore, Jesse Stroman, Jordan Stroman, Joshua JR Stroman, and Harley Stroman. Brother: Charles (Chic)(Karen) Stroman, Sisters: Judy (Dwight) Kumm, Marilyn (Robert) Croci, Special Cousin: Gary (Jane) Greiving, Special Friend: Adam (Heidi) Kruger, and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents: Ralph and Elzada Stroman, Brother: Stephen (Steve) Stroman, Scott Stroman, Son: Joshua Stroman, and Grandson: Joseph Stroman. Graveside to be held at 10:00 a.m. at Ulysses Township Cemetery on June 17, 2023. A Celebration of Life will be held June 17, 2023, From 1:00-4:00 p.m. at Willard Community Center, 1245 S. Velma J. Webster
Velma spent her final years living at Mosaic in Beatrice, NE, and passed away after a short illness in Lincoln, NE. She was born August 31, 1952 in Omaha, NE to William Webster and Ruth Ricehill. She was the fifth of eight children. Early on her family was unable to care for her and all contact with family was lost. Through the years she lived in Omaha, South Sioux City, David City, and Beatrice, NE. Velma enjoyed shopping, going out to eat cheeseburgers, van rides, and the park. She loved her coffee, bird watching, sunshine on her face, baking, Holidays, knitting, and giving hugs and kisses. Our love lives on through you. Be free. Warren Edwin Harms
Warren Edwin Harms passed away peacefully at the age of 101 on May 2, 2023. Warren was born on a farm by Glenvil, Nebraska, to George and Sophie Harms on November 28, 1921. He was a life-long farmer and retired from many years as a loan officer for Production Credit Association. He married his high school sweetheart, Virginia (Kewpie) Onken, on August 12, 1942. They had six children and lived in Fairfield, Crete, Glenvil, Minden, and lastly back to Fairfield, all in Nebraska. Warren made many life-long friendships and was known to all as “Hoss” because he was a cowboy at heart. Warren loved to sing and Virginia’s voice harmonized beautifully with his. They sang together on many occasions. He loved the Lord, his family, music, traveling, old farm equipment, and horses. Warren was strong in his faith and was active in the Lutheran Church and the Gideon Society. He was also a member of the Clay Center Lions Club for 40 years. Warren was scout master for the Boy Scouts of America for 31 years and helped mentor many Eagle scouts. He was honored to achieve the level of the Order of the Arrow. Warren was widowed in 2002. In 2014, he renewed his friendship with Merna Kinnison and they were married on May 9, 2015. Warren and Merna enjoyed eight years together, always sharing memories of the past. Warren is survived by his wife, Merna, son Terry Harms, wife Danna; daughter Deanna Stranathan, husband Mike; daughter Juliene Bryan, husband Bill; son Warren Curtis Harms, wife Judy; daughter Aletha (Buffy) Cornish, husband Gary; son Bryan Harms, wife Fawnette; beloved daughter-in-law Ann Harms; nine grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Marvin Harms, wife Virginia, grandsons Rick Bryan and Kelly Stranathan. A celebration of life will be held at a later date for family only. Carol Ann Rogers
Carol Rogers passed away peacefully and surrounded by family. Carol was born December 14, 1936 in New York and moved to Lincoln with her husband and love of her life in 1967. Preceded in death by her parents William and Helen Tomicki. Survived by husband of 65 years Joe, sons, Joe, Bill (Ada Emmett) and Jim (Camelia Rogers). Grandchildren Alexander Rogers (Shaivani), Kyle (Sam Verhoff), Elena (Justin Hollifield), Tristan and Danica Rogers, and her brother William (Barbara) of Santa Barbara, CA. At her request there will be no visitation. A private inurnment at a later date.
