December 31, 1950 – May 16, 2019 Linda lived in Lincoln for 68 years. She married Richard on December 26, 1970. Linda passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family and friends. She graduated from Lincoln Northeast in 1969, “Once a rocket, always a rocket”. Linda’s pride and joy was her family. She graduated from Joseph’s College of Beauty. She worked in the deli at Hinky Dinky Grocery Store, manager at Sally’s Beauty Supply, receptionist at Home Real Estate before her stroke in 2013. Her hobbies include spending time with her grandchildren, drinking coffee, visiting with family and friends, gambling at the “boats”/Council Bluffs and Las Vegas. She is survived by her mother, Wyona (Scoville) Markwardt; husband, Richard Lee Eisenbarth, Sr.; daughter, Shonna Lynn Jordan; Son, Richard Lee (Katriece Sturdivant) Eisenbarth, Jr.; Grandchildren, Amanda (Tyler) Potts, Amber (Jerry Yeager) Jordan, Aleisha (Carl Yoakum) Jordan, Josh Larson, Avery Rodgers, Dylan Eisenbarth, Nathan Floyd, Isaiah Eisenbarth, and Ava Eisenbarth; great-grandchild, Reed Potts; Sisters, Jackie (Dan) Kurtzer, Lori (Mike) Runyan; brother, Steve (Kathy) Markwardt; many extended family and friends. Preceded in death by her father, Jack Markwardt and her daughter, Nicole Lee Larson. Thelma Irene Philippi, 81, of Lincoln passed away on May 13, 2019. Born June 5, 1937 in Page, NE to Harold and Edith Summers. Thelma grew up on a farm near O’Neill, NE and taught in a one room school house at age 17 after recieving a teaching certificate from Wayne State College. She also taught piano lessons. Unfortunately her teaching career was cut short after a car accident on the way home from school that left her in a coma for one month, and a year long recovery re-learning to walk and talk. Thelma moved to Lincoln and attended Lincoln School of Commerce and married Albert Philippi on her birthday in 1960. Thelma was preceded in death by her husband Albert, parents, step-mother Lillian and brother Charles Hovey. Survived by daughter Gale (Harry) Foreman, son Jeffrey Philippi of Lincoln. Grandchildren Travis (Amanda) Foreman, Lori (Patrick) Loder, Ranae Foreman, all of Lincoln, Joseph Foreman of Albuquerque, NM. Great grandchildren James and Jeremy Foreman. Brother George (Patty) Summers. Sisters Joyce (Lowell) Hunter, Leona (Bruce) Mclead. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed! Family and friends gathering at a later date. Marilyn K. Henry, 80, of Lincoln, died surrounded by her family on May 14, 2019, at Bryan Medical Center East Campus. She was born on June 24, 1938, in North Platte, to Oscar Henry and Joyce (Reitan) Henry.
She loved her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brother and sister and was much beloved by all of them. Marilyn was passionate about travel, classical music and opera, her cats, her flower and herb garden, clouds, and her large circle of friends. She was a voracious reader and was most happy when she was learning. She had a master’s degree in educational psychology from the University of Nebraska and had a long career as a social worker for the elderly at Madonna Professional Care Center and later the Aging Partners office in Lincoln. She was a volunteer docent at the Sheldon Museum of Art and loved talking to children about the art there.
She is survived by her three children, Chris Welsch, Paris; Jenny Welsch, Lincoln, and Joyce Welsch, Lincoln (Shawn Renner); her grandchildren, Jacinda, Craig and Ian; and her great-grandchildren, Torrin, Mira, Kendall, Orion, Charles, Carmalee, Camille, and Cristian; her brother, Ed Henry, San Diego (Connie), sister, Galen Boyle, Colorado Springs (Rich).
A memorial service will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. at the Unitarian Church of Lincoln, 6300 A St. Memorials to the Unitarian Church of Lincoln.
